By Kelly S.November 8, 2019Bought a new home his company built$165,000
I recently purchased a Home built by Terry Potter owner of K1 concrete LLC. It is a brand new 2019 build and they did the shadiest work I’ve ever seen. There are nicks, dings, and scratches everywhere, the drywall is cracked, and it is the most horrible finish and paint job I have ever seen. The plumbing leaks, and when we moved in there was a gas leak in the basement and the plumbing in one of the bathrooms poured water directly into the basement when we ran the shower for the first and only time. We’ve made multiple attempts to reach out to the builder because of the Michigan one year warranty on new builds, and it’s been 2 1/2 weeks and he has yet to send somebody out here. We leave voicemails and don’t hear back from him for about a week to a week and a half. And as of yet the issues that we’ve had have not been fixed. He hires people that don’t know what they’re doing to build the houses for him and he’s a concrete guy. The concrete in the basement though, didn’t even have a concrete finisher go through and finish it. Seems like a pretty shady guy and I wouldn’t purchase a home built by him ever again.

We bought our house from Terry and his wife Edye in 2021 for 310k. They put the house on the market when is was built but not finished. We took occupancy 10-30-21 and arrived to a patio door that was cracked and had a board shoved in it, no proper lock that worked. A front door that was terribly installed, not matching and wrong handle that didn’t even fit. The paint and finishing is the worst work I’ve ever seen in my life. Dings, scratches, missing paint in so many areas, holes in the walls, trim that was cut with a dull saw so it was jagged yet still installed. Also had a sewer leak within the first few day of using the showers. And a gas leak from the hot water heater. The grading in the yard was terrible, ruts everywhere and water standing in many locations of the yard. SHADY WORK. And to top it all off, when we called to have this all fixed he dodged our calls for months . We called so many times and he almost never called back. A few times he said he would be out and no showed! Finally when we were at menards buying stuff to fix the house I ran into him and he couldn’t dodge me. He did come out and replace the door with the proper handle, graded the yard and fixed the holes in drywall but trust me it’s not quality work at all. The paint and trim was never fixed. The plumbing they did send the guy out a few days after we moved in. And the patio door was fixed by Anderson not them. Several houses around us were built by them and they all have similar issues. We have done so much work in our brand new house and it’s a shame we ever had to do it in the first place. Most unprofessional company I’ve ever dealt with.
