By RobertJuly 23, 2020Water Damage remodel$57,000Response from Kaem Enterprises July 24, 2020We understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion and we are sorry for your frustration. Unfortunately sometimes years of experience, knowledge, confidence and pride in knowing we do great work may translate into others thinking we may be "the best thing since sliced bread". That is not how we wanted that to come through. In clarification, most contractors do not start work without a down payment and a clear progress payment structure based on work performed and a signed contract outlining amounts to be paid. We understand the insurance process more than most contractors. This job like many of our other jobs was started without any money, even though this was a large loss. This is unusual in the contracting business but we know that having a water damage/ insurance claim is something unexpected and we put trust in our clients. It is our estimation that approximately 50% of the work had already been completed before our first payment arrived. Any inquires we made for payments we feel were just as job scope services were completed without proper progress payments being made. Final payment arrived over a month after job completion. The timing of this review coincides with not the work completion or progress of work as we know all parties were satisfied but yet a separate situation. Unfortunately the customer reported physical damage to a door installed by us and was looking for free service or reimbursement for the damages. Physical damage is not covered by any contractors warranty. Anyone more concerned about this review can contact us directly. We are more than happy to elaborate and explain any apprehensions in using our company.

I've worked with contractors before but never one like this. Has no people skills, constantly runs his mouth and he thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. All this guy cares about is when the insurance money is coming. Can't tell you how many times I had to tell him, the insurance company submits the checks I don't, as soon as I get them you will get them. Kamil is always on the defense. Shop around, Kamil doesn't stand by his work. I would never hire this guy again even he was the last contractor on earth. Believe me when I tell you there are hundreds better than this guy.
(UPDATE)
I also want to add he should have been reimbursed by his wife's company (ServiceMaster) for the door. Whether he submitted for reimbursement or not is a different story because they give him most of his business due to his wife. Kamil was paid based on insurance check releases as well as work completed on the house. He was always ahead with the money, with the exception of when he started because he chose to start before any money showed up. That was his decision. If you would like a detailed spreadsheet of when he got paid along with date of each part of the work being completed on the house and cost I would be more than happy to provide that. Now let's get to the heart of the issue here. While it is true I waited to post a review it was a long time coming. Recently we had an issue with the screen door the contractor put in. Keep in mind, this was a door he purchased, had the receipt (or should have had) and put in. This door was not physically damaged by the customer. This is a known defect in the door. This door is under warranty and part of the screen door track broke. No one knows when it happened or how it happened as it was discovered when the door was being closed and it fell off the track. I contacted the contractor to see what I can do because it's supposed to be under warranty and he did install it. The first thing he did was blame and said someone put to much force on it. Text message when back and forth about how it could break and he continued to place blame. FYI: it's virtually impossible to step on this, maybe a 25lb or 35lb kid would step on it but if that breaks it then a pretty cheap door was installed. In any event I said the door should be under warranty and if he had the receipt. I told him I would call Home Depot to see what they can do. Called Home Depot and they gave me the manufactures phone number to call. Spoke to the manufacture and they said it was a KNOWN DEFECT. A known defect in the door, not caused by anyone but an issue with the door. They told me just to get a copy of the receipt and fax or email it to them and they will send me the fix for the KNOWN DEFECT. I relay this to the contractor and he looks for the receipt. Tells me he can't find the receipt, so I ask what can I do, this door is under warranty and I need this track. He proceeds to say "I have no idea." Told him I was going to be blunt and to the point and that I should not be on the hook for a door bought and installed by you for a known defect. He responds and tells me to change my attitude. First of all never speak to your customer that way, second of all it was a text message he was interpreting the message the way he felt, which with him is always on the defense. So he's claiming I wanted work done for free, which was not the case, I just wanted to receipt and for my door that he purchased and installed to be fixed. Remember it was a known defect in the door so no one was at fault. I will say this, after this review was posted he proceed to contact me and tell me this review won't hurt him (I have the text).
Once this review was posted he disputed it because he didn't want people seeing the truth. Build Zoom requested documents from me about this and I was able to provide them to show them what kind of contractor he is. He lost the dispute and this review will stay because of evidence I had shown them. I reiterate, don't hire this guy,
