Mike did some work on my roof without my asking him to or us agreeing on a price, and without telling me what he'd done. Over a month later I received a bill for $100, still without any indication of what he'd done. We played phone tag for about a week, and when we finally spoke, I told him the leak wasn't fixed, but I still felt I was entitled to know what work he'd done. He started giving me an attitude, claiming that since it hadn't worked, there was no need to tell me what he'd done. I explained that since it was my roof, my house, and I live here, I'm entitled to know what had been done. I had to repeat myself a couple of times, being insistent, and he finally told me he'd caulked under the shingles. And he expected me to pay him $100 for this!! Not a great recommendation, in my mind.

It is quite funny that the above user refers to herself as WitchMountain. The story she tells above is not the truth. Her leak was fixed and she was quite happy until she recieved a small invoice of $100. Once she recieved the invoice, she called and left such a nasty voice mail. As many know, when it is free it is great. When they have to pay, it is time to lie.
As builders and contractors, we need to have some way of letting each other know who these "bad" customers are... as it is bad enough to not get paid, but to allow them to come on line and try to destroy an honest, hard working, legitimate business.
I have her name and numbe and will go home and post it so people know that I do not recommend her as a customer especially since she has gone this far.
