My husband and I took over a family owned unit in a duplex that was primarily used as a rental for 30+ years. When the last tenants left, the place was outdated and destroyed. We wanted to remodel the entire interior of the home plus some badly needed repairs to the exterior siding that was never painted. I was 18 weeks pregnant with our first child and while we did most of the interior demo ourselves the project became burdensome as my pregnancy progressed. Making the commute from the Bay Area every weekend draining. We just didn’t have the stamina or the time to get the place ready in time to move.
We hired Bill and his team for the project and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We were able to move into the property within 6 weeks of Bill taking on the project. The entire unit was gutted and replaced with new fixtures, appliances, finishes, electrical, light plumbing, popcorn ceiling removal, siding repair, interior and exterior painting, all new windows and doors, and a new redwood fence around the backyard. We are extremely happy with the results and the overall professionalism of Bill and his team. There are many contractors out there that will do great work but Karp Construction goes the extra mile. Whenever there was an issue, Bill’s response was quick and reassuring and alterations were made in a fair and timely manner. Bill is easy to talk too and overall a great person to have working on an intimate project such as building a home for your family. Moving forward he is our go-to-guy for any other repairs and highly recommended.
