AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
They can’t do a simple oil delivery. Instead they want a tank inspection but can’t explain what they need to inspect, how they will do the inspection or why. In my case a tank inspection would require removing all the oil, disconnecting the lines, and using a machine to lift the tank out of a containment vessel. When I pointed that out they said they would have to inspect the furnace. It rapidly became clear they purpose of this bullshit is to talk you into a service contract which we don’t need or want, and the result of that is jacked up prices for fuel oil.
So they start with a low fuel oil price that they won’t deliver. When you a badly in need of oil, at risk or running out in cold months, they figure they have you by the balls and can force you into a contract where they screw you over.
They are about the worst rates fuel oil delivery company in the area. Seriously, their reviews are literally the worst.
You do not want these people to service your furnace. You never want one of their long term contracts. And you do not want to have anything to do with them.
In my case, I’ve had three incidents with them. All because I order from Cash Heating, which hides the name of the vendors. So Kaufman will often have the lowest prices and then you find out there are all sort of requirements they add one, with the sole purpose of screwing you in either a long term contract or a demand that you hire some for some work you don’t need.
If Kaufman were honest vendors. They would deliver oil without moving the goal posts and turning a simple delivery into an argument with requirements that change. They would not leave you screwed with no oil in ultra cold weather.
