Kazmi Construction

I hired Kazmi Construction for a project to:
* Paint the interior of my mom's apartment
* Swap out two closet doors
* Replace base boards
* Replace sink in bathroom

Here is my experience

* Painting--they did an adequate job of painting the walls and ceilings, however the doors, window frames and door jabs were not painted, even though the contract states paining the entire interior. When asked about it, the owner Syed, claims that those areas were extra, and he refused to paint them.

* Closet doors--they measures the closet doors, and we measured the doors as well. We took the measurements to Home Depot and acquired the doors based on the measurements. Syed hanged the doors improperly with gaps between the double doors and gaps between the doors and the frame. When he was questioned about the improper installation, he indicated that the door size where incorrect. We asked him to remove the doors. We then got a Home Depot installer to properly hung the same doors. I should have know that something was wrong when my brother caught him reading the door installation instructions. By the way he refused to reimburse the money for hanging the door.

* Base board--Syed was supposed to remove the base boards and replace them with 2 1/2 base boards. He started tearing off the base board then complained that the wall was concrete and that he did not have the tools to install the base board on concrete. This happened after he came out, saw the project, and quoted the project. He refused to replace the base board in the initial contract or the baseboard that he tore off.

* Sink--He properly replaced a pedestal sink in the bathroom. However, he was caught placing the new sink on the old based and he had the new based set aside with his property to take with him.

Overall Experience:
We found that Kazmi over promised and under delivered. The owner, Syed, is very convincing but his professionality and honesty is questionable. The work is shoddy at best.

Morning Micheal this week I’m caught up I’ll follow up with her one of these days and go paint the living room baseboards

Can you check the schedule and give me a date

Syed:
I’ll go there Saturday morning
Morning Micheal I have to reschedule Will go there following Saturday instead thank you.

Me:
See you tomorrow at 9

Syed:
Yessir I’ll be there.

Me:
Thought you were going to get my mom this weekend??

Syed:
I couldn’t my holidays this weekend my apologies. I’ll let you know when I’d be able to come in again thanks

Me:
Can we please get this wrapped up????

Syed:
I have work lined up just been caught up my apologies I’ve already visited your place twice to remove closets again and to touch-up paint. I can’t come in every week but As soon as I get the chance I’ll Schedule an appointment with you thanks
