In the past 35 years I have been involved in the acquisition, planning, development, construction and maintenance of over 200 new military, government and large commercial projects. They have ranged from $500,000 (In my early years) to over 300 million, in the US, Can, South America and in the Philippines and I can say that the company A J Kellos Construction Co Inc out of Augusta, GA and also registered in Florida is hands down the worse construction company I have ever contracted. My only solace is that I discovered their incompetence early on and we did not award them the remaining and majority contract, nevertheless it was still a nightmare having to constantly monitor and correct mistakes throughout the project. I literally had to relocate one of our project managers to Georgia just to insure that A J Kellos crews did work to spec and stayed on budget. I could write a book covering the 16 months of misadventure's that I witnessed and experienced at times with their crews and with AJ Sr, Arnold and even Marie, What a Family! My advice, If you have a small project, say a dog house or maybe a privacy fence then give them a call, but get everything in writing twice, and still they will be late and over budget. In closing also be prepared to do maintenance immediately upon completion of their work for they will be in the wind, claiming all is well. Sterling Langrish FTCO
