    Office build out
    $70,000

This is my 1st ever 1-star review. Typically when I have an issue with a company or business owner I give them my feedback directly and then let it go.

In this case, there was no reasoning with the contractor that owns Kelsmac because you can't reason with someone that always believes they are the victim. It was always someone else's fault and she never took responsibility for the poor work on the job.

The work was delayed months and what was done was very poor quality. Her crew continually no showed and then she would lie and say they were there. Or they were lying to her and she did not follow up.

She was rarely on the job site and didn't know enough about construction to be managing it.

As a result I believe the crews took advantage of her and when she had to double pay or rehire a job she tried to put the burden on me rather than owning up to her mistakes and her crew's mistakes.

As far as mistakes, I was initially patient, because everyone makes errors. I usually give 3 strikes. I gave Kelsey about 7 before it got ugly. Here is a list of just a few of her many errors:

    - Telling her crew NOT to put insulation in the walls and then lying to me and saying it was done. They had to drill holes in the wall to put in after delaying another month.
    - Not ordering cabinets she said she would delaying us another month.
    - Not communicating with her flooring crew so we didn't know until the day of install they could not install the floors we had ordered (that we had in hand for months)
    - Doing the door frames incorrectly where she had to redo them and then I had to hire another crew to redo again later
    - Very sloppy paint that was all over the floors, inside the outlets, and on my new cabinets
    - Uneven and bowing floors that squeak loudly
    - No progress on the job for weeks and she did not communicate with me at all
    - Telling me I could move in (when she hadn't even been on site) and when I showed up the place was still a disaster. I had to constantly change my entire business schedule because she was not on top of things. This significantly hurt my business.

That is not to mention the more subjective aspects like lack of communication and lack of responsibility. Several people on the job, including the architect and electrician that have been in the industry over 30 years, said they had never seen anything like this. They had never seen anyone behave how Kelsey did.

The city inspectors apparently started referring to me as "that poor lady" because of how bad the job site was when they came by.

If you're still unsure just check out the photos attached on google from the day Kelsey tried to call for final inspections. For reference, final inspections are usually called when the job is fully complete and the customer can move in

Fortunately she no showed me that morning and I had another contractor in same day who said there was no way she would have been able to complete the job by the time the inspector arrived. It gave me the closure I needed to fire her and get on a new crew.

With that being said, I had to pay double for nearly all the work she did just to have it fixed so I could even move in. I couldn't move in until 2 weeks after having a full time crew in after she called for "finals".

So assuming this company even stays in business. Proceed with caution.

    Cabinet install
    $10,000

Do not deal with business. The owner is a liar. She hires subs for her jobs and does not pay them, be aware that if the subs are not payed the lien is placed not only against the business owner but on the property as well. Do not hire her she is not professional!

    Verified Hire
    Basement Finish

Kelsey did an excellent job with our basement finish project. We went with simple, low cost finishes to keep the timeline short, and they got things done fast. The workers were very friendly and did good quality work. The finishes took a bit longer than expected (mostly due to supply chain issues), but overall they were still faster and cheaper than any of the other quotes we received. Great communication and overall management too.

    Kitchen Remodel project

The project manager communicated well, did a great job. There were a few hiccups along the way, but he helped us figure those out and we now have a wonderful new kitchen.

    Rebuild my damaged home
    $247,000

This contractor is very professional and they knew how to bid my job. They are not just using subcontractors. They are using verified employees. They just rebuilt my home in a matter of 3 months. I am extremely impressed with their work. I highly recommend this company.
