We had 2 HVAC units installed this year. I received 3 estimates and this contractor's estimate was very low based on the other estimates received. I decided to go with him because I received two good referrals about the company and his work. He showed up and finished on time. I was a little hesitant about the cost and I told him in my basement that it was very low and I wanted good units installed. He told me that he installs them (GMC-Goodman knockoff ??) all the time and they are easy to work on if a problem arise. The house is cooler this year and our electric bill dropped tremendously this year. The downstairs unit operates just fine, but when the unit upstairs starts up the house vibrates and the start up noise is so loud my neighbors can hear it...so embarrassing, especially when they know you just got it installed. We can't even sit outside on the deck because it startles you when the unit starts up. The sound even wakes me up during the night. I called Mr. Kendrick and he came out and told me it was normal. I asked him why the unit downstairs doesn't make that noise...his response was "it's cooling isn't it?" "and besides it has a 10 year warranty." He basically told me that I should be happy that I'm not hot and let me know when it breaks completely down. Before he left, he told me that he would check into the noise...I haven't heard from Mr. Kendrick since. We last spoke on May 28, 2013. He also stated he would give me my warranty paperwork...haven't seen that either. I'm not satisfied at all with his level of professionalism. I get very upset when I hear the upstairs unit turn on.
