We had them over for an estimate. They failed to show the scheduled day and had to reschedule. He did add roof caulk for free to a leak he was looking at for us, but I believe that was because he had to ask to use my tools. We had to ask them to send the estimate a week later for the primary work we spoke about. After signing the paperwork, we expected to hear from them about a window for the work and down payment. Over a week later they had not even acknowledged us. After I ended the agreement, he wrote a curt email to me indicating he did not want to do the work because I had issues with their lack of response to the customer and I expressed it was bad customer service. He also did not like that I wanted to hold them to their word for starting the work in the window they provide unless weather issues exist (just didn’t want my little job continually pushed off for bigger jobs). The email inferred Ketter Construction was not going to tell me they did not want my business choosing to leave me in limbo. Apparently small jobs are not important to them, even if it would lead to larger jobs. My advice, go elsewhere.

Stay away from Brandon Ketter for any job.
I signed a $7400 contract with him in 2019, a requirement of which was to pay 1/3 up front. Fine, that's generally standard practice. I then barely hear from him for the next five months, and spend the entire summer chasing the guy down. He misrepresented to me that he had the qualifications to rent the equipment to do the job, and that he would have other people working it with him. He apparently spent my down payment on other things and no longer had the funds to rent the equipment and buy supplies needed for the job.
Seeing as I was already in the hole so far to him, I finally work out an arrangement to rent the equipment and buy the paint and deduct it from the next amount that I pay him (violating the contract we signed, but I just wanted the work to get done). Fine, he does the first two thirds of the job. Over the course of which he SUBSTANTIALLY damages the yard around the barn ten one to two foot deep gouges in the lawn (he didn't know how to use the lift required to the job), left trash on my property and doesn't clean anything up.
He finished the roof, and (que sob story about how he apparently didn't cost the job out correctly) starts texting me incessantly while I am out of town, begging to be paid another chunk of the money in advance claiming that he has no money in the bank and doesn't know how he's going to feed his kids that week. I relent, trying to help out a needy dad and he promises that the job will get done that week. He tried stringing me along for a while longer with offers of additional work until he stopped responding entirely. The job was never finished after I had paid him $600 more than our contracted price.
Hire anyone else.

Avoid. They will take your initial payment, then simply not show up. When they do, they threaten to walk off the job before they're through if you don't give them additional funds. Their work quality is fair at best. On our jobs they left several detail pieces undone, and rushed other things and it shows. We're glad to have them off our property.

This is the owner of the company Brandon. Everyone that’s reads these has to remember there are 3 sides to every story. Out of the 213 clients we have had the honor to work for in the last 2 years and to only have 3 people who were unable to please. I feel extremely grateful. Check out our Facebook reviews to see how the other 213 jobs went. @Ketter Construction & Remodeling. People are quick to list when they are unhappy.
The top comment was someone we never even did work for. They couldn’t find a contractor to save their life. I agreed to go over on a Friday for a roof inspection . It was raining Friday evening so I re scheduled his ROOF INSPECTION for the next morning on a Saturday. I diagnosed the roof and noticed The boot collars were never sealed causing the leak. Told the homeowners I had roof caulk and if I had a caulk gun I’d do it right then for free. So I used his “tool” to do something for free for them on a Saturday morning. He then wanted a bid to re attach some siding. As he was unpleasant in his messages we decided not to send him an estimate. He’s obviously very beat up over this situation. Just goes to show how these few that leave negative comments or waiting to do so with everything in life. His wife left us a review thanking us for taking care of them and my knowledge but when we decide not to move forward with doing work for them he goes crazy.
The one who had a deck built called us right as covid hit. Permit office went to doing everything online. It was a learning curve for all contractors. Once he found out the estimated start date got pushed back about 20 days due to the lumber shortage and working through the permit process there was no pleasing him. I understand he wanted it for a family reunion he was hosting and instead it didn’t get completed until afterwards. The inspector for Charles County told me he sees bunches of Decks and this is one of the best he had seen in awhile. We felt bad about the whole situation. Did other odds a d ends around the house on us.
We sponsor local sports organizations, we give and volunteer to other non profit organizations such as our church and a veteran ran group called the war fighter advance. We have more integrity then most. We go the extra mile on every job. I will loose my tail on a job before I ever jeopardize the quality of work.
