Stay away from this individual! I can only reconfirm 100% what Vince Della Speranza noted in his review. He could not finish painting my house after 5 months, took my money and never returned

I hired Kevin Auberry to repair and paint lifted tape seams on vaulted ceilings in my home. I didn't have a specific deadline for my work so his failure to arrive on time wasn't an issue for us, but keep in mind that he NEVER arrived when he said he would. Furthermore, I cannot recommend the work of this individual. two weeks after completion of his spackle repairs, I observed full length cracks in the seam repairs he made in my family room. Three times he was scheduled to return to assess and correct. He NEVER returned. Once he is paid, you will not get him back if you are unhappy with the result. He made appointments to return and my wife sat at the home waiting all day. Not only did he not keep his appointments that he made with her, he did't phone to offer any reason. it is now two weeks after my last contact with him. despite threatening legal action, he has no apparent interest in even returning to see the problem, let alone correct it. I allowed him to use my scaffold and ladder because my ceilings are 16 ft. high. I would not use this individual again nor can I recommend him to anyone else. Vince DellaSperanza

I had been working with Mr. Auberry for about 5 years on my home that I had as a rental with no major problems in his service. When I retired and was getting ready to move into this home there were several major projects I was interested in doing prior to moving in. Cleaning and painting my garage floor (completed), tiling my family room (completed, with some issues and I supplied the tile and grout), refinishing my hardwood floors (to be sanded, stained & finished with polyurethane), painting the house (interior), fencing in my back yard for my dogs (I supplied the fencing, but not the cement for the fence posts). Mr. Auberry drew up a contract, which I agreed to, and the total amount for work and supplies was $12,465 with work to be completed within 20 days of down payment. I paid $4500 down for his materials and payroll on 2/26/19. Two weeks later, he needed the next installment and I sent $4500 on 3/11/19. I should have driven down to my home before sending him the 2nd installment, but I didn't. Big Mistake. I arrived at my home to find the floors not completed, the painting not completed, the fence not even started. Since then, I have a string of text messages and phone calls on practically a daily basis of promises of coming to work, never showing, if he did show up, he would be here for about an hour and have to leave, never to return. He has probably sent a total of 8 hours at my home since April 1. All of the issues listed above are still not completed. I am now in the process of getting bids from contractors to clean up the mess that he has made of my beautiful home. Of course, now I have furniture in my house, so it will cost me much more to have the floors refinished as all of the furniture must be moved and I will have to find a place to stay during the process.I have not finished unpacking boxes as there is no point in unpacking and putting things away if I will have to repack everything to be moved. I am frustrated, angry and extremely disappointed in this man, not to mention the loss of $9,000 and a total mess.
I would go to small claims court, but even if I win, I have to collect the money, which will never happen. I don't think he owns anything to put a lien against. He was obviously in over his head, knew he couldn't fix the mess he made and disappeared. I just want to get the word out to anyone considering hiring this man that he is a crook, a con man and basically a bad guy. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. If I had a way to shut his business down, I would. He should be in jail IMHO.
