  March of 2017 - Kevin Hinsdale, Owner of Above All Plumbing & Contracting, Inc. was engaged to remedy water leaking into my house and to repair the drywall that had been damaged by the leak. The leak was due to water coming through a downspout, saturating the ground and then coming in the foundation. His solution was to put in a french drain. Water from downspout would empty into a pipe. This pipe leads out into the yard and empties into an underground cistern. This cistern is perforated to distribute the water into the yard and away from the foundation. This entire situation was handled by my property manager, Phyllis Barker. I found it odd that the total job took Kevin and his workers 6 months to complete. The ridiculously slow progress was frustrating for Phyllis and the men who lived there. It may have contributed to why I lost what should have been a long term tenant in Sept. of 2017, much earlier than they had initially planned to vacate.
  When I returned to Boise in Oct. 2017, I was dismayed to find the wall he had repaired looked terrible. There was an obvious seam and the texture was messy and did not match the texture in the surrounding wall areas. The outside area where he had installed the drain was poorly done as well. Flagstones overlapped, lots of dirt showing, dug up yard and destroyed grass leaving a strip of ugly mud, etc. I spoke to Kevin Hinsdale by phone on Oct. 9, 2017. He promised to send his worker to redo the wall and take care of the other things. He never called me back. The project was urgent as I was hoping to rent my house quickly. I texted him on Oct 13 and emailed him on Oct 17. He did not respond. Finally I gave up and Osman Martinez to redo the wall so it would look nice to potential renters. He did a wonderful job, making the seam invisible and creating texture that perfectly matched the surrounding walls.
  On January 9th, 2018 I noticed the landing going downstairs was wet. I looked under the stairs and there was water running down the wall. This was the same leak pattern which occurred in Feb. 2017, the one that Kevin Hinsdale had been paid to repair. My neighborhood handyman, Brian Wallingford, looked at it. He said the downspout system was obviously failing with very little water. It had only rained .46 inches that day. To better understand the system, He called Mr. Hinsdale. Mr. Hinsdale said the system he installed was working as designed. My handyman said later to me that if it was designed to flood the house, it was working as designed. He put in a temporary fix, a long black pipe running along the outside of the house to dump water into an area that slopes away from the house. Of course this is ugly and not a permanent fix. I filed a complaint with the BBB on Jan. 12, 2018. The BBB contacted Mr. Hinsdale several times over three weeks but he did not reply. Apparently he avoids responsibility.
  I now have to start all over and hire another company to do what Kevin Hinsdale was paid to do. I will also have to pay a lawn company to reseed the area of sod destroyed by Kevin Hinsdale. Then I will have to pay my handyman to re-lay the flagstone as they originally were. This will have to be done in my absence since I am moving away.
