Unfortunately I would never recommend Mr Parkhurst as a contractor. He began our project however he worked short days leaving days he did work by 2 PM, starting between 8 - 9 am. He did not keep us informed on when he would and would not show up. He had a personal misfortune, injuring himself off the job, however did not apprise of us of the situation and when he wouild be returning to complete the job. He got angry when we pushed him for an update and I shared the above rating and said he was contacting his lawyer and would not complete the job. No bond insurance so no recapture of funds in that venue. We paid him $9000. It is difficult to say if the funds were appropriately used, but he quoted the job at $12.050 and he was at best 1/2 finished. I have never had a contractor like him before. He is quite personable and talks a good game, telling us if there were any delays his brothers would step in to assist. We have seen no one for some time. Although bitterly disapppointed in how this evolved, so much might have been different if he had the courtesy to keep us informed and actually applied himself to the job. Everyone has their own guidlines as to what makes a good contractor. Make your own decision on the experiences you see posted here.

Use him at your own peril. The man is a thief. He will take your deposit money and won't finish the job. Stay away!
Response from Kirk Parkhurst May 28, 2021This is a fraudulent claim. Out of the project a few windows were not installed. They were delivered to the house. I had installed 90 percent of the job and trim. Disposed of waste. Customer called Amd harassed my distributor to the point they closed my account. They pretended to be me. Customer was informed by Pella windows were ordered. They continued to call Pella I had enough and walked away. Customer received all their windows. No balance was due. Had I taken 11000 dollars I would have been arrested These claims are 100% false end of day all materials were delivered. Balance owed to me was never collected

Talks a good line. Never finished job, and the siding he did install was not installed correctly.
Totally breached contract. Did not install new tyvek, only installed some foam board. Found places where he put siding on bare plywood with nothing underneath. Siding nailed too tight. Showed up for a couple 4 hour days. Would show up with one box of siding at a time, if he showed up at all. Job was to be completed in January. He showed up in Feb and only did one side. Constant no show. Then asked for more money. Smooth talker. Now nearly May 1st. Haven't heard from him since mid March.
Need to hire someone to correct his lies and mistakes. Happy to show you pics and communication lies. Judy Robbins Old Orchard Beach Maine 207-838-6637
