My wife and I know Klaus Kubler Construction for over 10 years and he did a numerous projects for us.
He has done in our house one bathroom and one powder-room which were completely remodeled including plumbing, electricity and tiling. We always have shown our friends with pride the fine, well designed bathrooms Klaus Kubler and his team have created. He and his co-workers have done an outstanding job by any reasonable measures. Klaus Kubler has a fantastic eye for details, design and accuracy. He is extremely trust-worthy when it goes to quality of work; for him there is no margin of error acceptable; the work needs to be done 100% correct. KK and his team were always on time, easy to work with and stayed in the budget. The quality of work was unmatched, you cannot do it better.
Beyond the above, KK has installed a light sensitiv out door lightening throughout our premise. He also replaced a
new furnace and water heater. He is specifically trust-worthy with plumbing and electricity. We would not trust anybody else doing this in our house. In other words, KK Construction is the first to go company for us in case we have a remodeling job to do.
Klaus Kubler specifically is a lovely human being to work with and is highly reliable in all categories you would want
to apply for a constructor. Needless to say, we would not hesitate to build a new house with him and his team if need was given. KK Construction is a highly recommendable construction company who is the finest choice you can make. We wish Klaus Kubler the best success with his company and will continue hire him for any new projects in the future.

By Alec D.February 2, 2019Raise ceiling and install chandelier$50,000
We hired Klaus on a time and materials basis to raise the ceiling in our dining room and install a chandelier. They discovered some tricky support beams after opening the ceiling and were still able to get the job done and looks great. He and his team also helped on a bunch of other work around that since we had them on site. Klaus will make suggestions of additional items for his team to complete and all were done with care and diligence. Klaus is actively involved in the projects and onsite pretty much every day. He's also creative in suggesting approaches and work-arounds. Would definitely recommend him.

The Klaus Kubler Construction performed a Retrofit job on my 5 unit apartment building in San Francisco, in 2017. The work was performed in a professional manner. The workers showed up every day and always cleaned up at the end of the day. All the work was inspected by the city inspectors and the permit was signed off as completed.

By L V.January 8, 2019Home remodel
My husband and I hired Klaus Kubler Construction to do some major improvements to our home. Klaus worked with us on ideas for our house. He is an extremely hard worker and is never satisfied until the job is done correctly and to the highest satisfaction. He and his crew are very respectful of the fact that they are working in your home. They were always on time and the jobs were completed in a timely fashion. We were having work simultaneously done to our backyard and due to Klaus's experience and expertise some major problems were avoided because of his watchful eye. He has an incredible design eye. I can say without a doubt that you can hire Klaus for a job and not think about it or worry, it will be done on time and it will be perfect. His good character and professionalism shows in all aspects of his work. He is very good to his crew as well and the mutual respect show in their work and the way they relate to each other and the client. I can not recommend them more highly.

By VickiJanuary 6, 2019kitchen remodel
Kubler Construction helped update our kitchen a few years ago. They did a great job. The design of the tile we chose for the back-splash was a pattern that had to be installed perfectly for the tiles to line up, and they were! Klaus also offered a few suggestions on some small details in the room like more up to date light switches and plates that improved the functionality and overall look/feel that we wouldn't have thought of without his recommendations. The level of detail, knowledge, and professionalism was appreciated.

Klaus and his crew has worked for me personally and for my property management company since February 2005. He has worked on several projects at different buildings with contracts worth several hundred thousand dollars.
His work is always of premium quality and, as the various buildings he has worked on for me date from 1910 through 1995, great insight and creativity have been needed to perform some of the work which was sometimes quite arcane. If he doesn't know how to attack a certain issue he researches and learns how to do it (no one knows everything and his curiosity makes him rise to any challenge). He is also willing and able to make quick changes to plans as defects are discovered in old construction, or if I request an alteration that other contractors would find baffling.
Klaus also has a good and practical design sense and I always value his input when making decisions on everything from colors and textures to room layouts.
I always sleep easier after Klaus works on our rental properties as I am certain that any chance of disaster caused by an unknown problem or substandard previous work is greatly lessened.
I have one anecdote that illustrates the value of his work. As my wife and I were selling our house in Orinda, we engaged Klaus to make some repairs and alterations which we felt would enhance the value of the property. When we were finishing these items up our real estate agent brought a client by to view it before the open house. He watched Klaus and I work through some small detail of the project. After he had purchased the house he told me that one of the reasons he had chosen to purchase our house is that he had perfect confidence in the condition of the property due to the care Klaus took in even the minor detail we had been discussing that day. -
By Ser K.June 2, 2017Electrical works$4,700
Avoid at all cost. I paid $4.7K for electrical works that have to be redone as they are not meeting the code. Mr. Klaus's work didn't pass city inspection, and six electrical code violations were reported by inspector. Mr. Klaus demanded me to pay for all costs and labour required to bring his own work up to code, putting blame on my old building. However, the thing that forced me to cut the contract with Mr. Klaus is that I found him consuming alcoholic beverages while performing electrical works, putting himself, his crew and me in danger. The same day, he also created significant damage to the property while he was under influence. It is a nightmare experience that I have paid $4.7K from my pocket. No refund were offered. It maybe pointed to you that he is Diamond Certified contractor, but do not be misguided as I was. When you call Diamond Certified agency, you will find that the agency is surveying only customers that Mr. Klaus politely provides to them.... do you think he will provide my contact to Diamond Certified? No way. Hope this will save money and avoid major pain for someone reading
Response from Klaus Kubler Construction July 26, 2018Dear Reader, In all my years of doing construction this is to my best knowledge the first negative review I have received. The Client who wrote this review was by far the most challenging one ever. Below is my side of the story. The city inspection my Client refers to was a rough inspection and I made my Client aware of the fact that the inspector might require correction of existing deficiencies (not our work). The inspector noted 5 deficiencies (item six was "subject to further inspection" Three of the items were bonding/grounding issues with existing conduits and wiring (installed previously and not by us). The remaining two items were circuit breaker related issues. As the work was not yet fully complete and ready for a final inspection the correct breakers were "on site" but not yet installed. All of the cited items were minor issues. Non of our work had to be re-done as my Client claims. The "being under the influence" accusation is based on the fact that I did actually have ONE 12oz bottle of apple cider with lunch. My body weight is about 192 lbs. - not much influence from one bottle of apple cider there. No refund was asked for. In the contrary my client and I agreed on a compromise as far as amount due and my Client wrote me a check accordingly. Furthermore we did complete work of a value exceeding the amount paid. The significant damage to the property: it happened when we tried to "fish" new wiring behind walls and had to drill in a very tricky spot to a length of roughly 5 feet between floors. Drilling the hole necessitated the use of an extra long and flexible electricians drill bit. Problem with those drill bits is that they can be re-directed inside the walls while drilling through framing and hitting a nail. There is no way to know that the drill bit has been misdirected until it finds daylight again. As a result the drill bit could emerge in a spot other than the desired one. This is what happened during this project. Not good but it can happen - I am sure there is not a single electrician doing similar projects for a few years who has never had that happen. The result was one hole in the drywall (the bit was 5/8") and one hole in the carpet - a bit bigger because the drill wrapped up some strings of carpet. Of course I offered to have the (significant damage) repaired at my cost. My Client refused. We met a few days later and came to an understanding, agreed on a settlement and my Client wrote a check for the remaining balance. I have been in business for 16+ years now and most of my Clients are repeat customers some going back as far as 10 years. On another note: I have no idea how "Build Zoom" arrives at their rating because the Permit information listed is not even close to reality. We have successfully completed many more project than listed and many of much higher value than shown. Please look past this ludicrous review and you will find a very reliable, honest and skilled contractor. Thank you very much for reading my response. Klaus Kubler
