John Klimek took a deposit of $2,400 for electrical work on a Monday and said he would start work on Friday. He came for an hour or so Friday and an hour or so on Saturday. He left a few things in the garage to accomplish part of the work here. He said he could finish the job in 3-4 days. This is the following week. I have called him on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and left a message for him on Facebook. He has not returned my calls/messages. I checked with a local home improvement contractor who has done work for me and he told me Mr. Klimek is unreliable and it is hard to get him to finish a job.

I wish I had checked out the above review about electrician John Klimek before ever hiring him. Bottom line: He was paid money for the supplies and labor he said he needed and never finished the work. The work he did do was sub-par, (crooked outlets, exposed outlets, switches not hooked up, unfinished electrical box, etc.) We finally had to hire another electrician to clean up the mess he left us in. John would suggest or agree to upgrades -- not adjust his bid/estimate to reflect these upgrades, and then apparently felt justified in taking the money earmarked for work and supplies covered in the original agreed-upon work estimate to cover the upgrades. In the more than a year of this nightmare, John Klimek NEVER followed up to review the status of the original job/work (and or upgrades) along the way, or discuss what still needed to be done/paid for. When do finally confronted about finishing the work, he asked and we provided a list of remaining tasks from the original estimate. He did not disagree with the list, but said he needed a final payment installment (for more supplies...) which he received with his "promise" to finish the job. From that point, he left some of his personal work items at our home and never returned. John Klimek does not regularly return phone calls, he rarely showed up to the job when he said he would, (if at all) and when he did show he would work for about two hours, say he had to leave to go to get supplies or lunch, and then never return. At that point we would start putting in the repeated calls to find out when he'd be back to work some more. This pattern continued for months afterward. Hire this man at your own risk. Get EVERYTHING in writing and get a list of the supplies he needs and go buy them yourself.
