Within a few years of buying new construction from Kumas, the roof leaked and needed new fiberglass. All three bathrooms leaked, the liner failed in both walk in showers and the tub wasn’t installed properly. I know this sounds like a vindictive review but it’s all completely true. The AC unit failed and needed to be replaced (that might not be their fault but it wasn’t up to code because it was installed in a manner that it couldn’t be accessed for service.) When the house was built the owner of the company, Frank Kumas admitted to me he didn’t understand how the panels on the exterior were supposed to keep out water. He’s a trim carpenter. Not a builder. It’s been a constant headache and financial blunder buying this home.

Kumas homes built, what appeared to be, a beautiful new 4 bedroom 3 bathroom home in Grays Ferry Philadelphia. The workmanship and quality of that home are unbelievably poor. Within 1 year of a brand new house, the HVAC/AC has broken three times, the sump pump has been clogged, they did not insulate pipes which caused leaking through the ceiling and dry wall falling out...all in 1 year! They give you a "one year builder warranty" but they make the process for making a claim so long that you can't use it. When water is leaking through the ceiling or you have no AC, you can't wait a week for them to finally accept your claim and dispatch someone to fix it. Their 1 year builders warranty is as good as trash, and when the problems persist after 1 year they say the warranty has expired, even though these same problems keep persisting. Do NOT buy a Kumas new build home, they cut corners, are very poorly built, and your out of pocket maintenance will be amounts you never anticipated.
