Kustom Koatings Paint

My wife and I recently were recently in the process of purchasing a home, however before our closing date we agreed we would paint the exterior and interior. Having a pregnant wife and a 7 month old it seemed obvious we would not be able to get this done on our own. We originally called the painter who painted the exterior of our last house, and found his quote the second time around to be very high. Not knowing any other trustworthy options we decided to go to our local Sherman Williams (I-40 & Mustang Rd.) to see if they could recommend a couple of contractors in the area. They provided us with three painters (Kustom Koatings being one of them) from which I called all three for a quote for the exterior of the home only. Upon my receipt of all quotes, I then called each back to discuss further and to get a better sense of their professionalism. Although, Larry Warren at Kustom Koatings was not the cheapest quote, my first impression of him was he was a “straight shooter” and after speaking again with the folks at Sherman Williams I knew he was the right man for the job. I then had him quote the interior of the home and then we agreed to what I believed to be an extremely reasonable price. From the beginning we requested his input on color ideas and I must say his ideas were not always my first choice however we did ultimately agree to go with his recommendations and I am so thankful we did! His crew was always respectful and courteous and always addressed me by name. While in the early stages of painting the interior of our home we recalled that Larry was a certified Sherman Williams painter and we had been told he had taught painting technique classes to others at the local store. We asked if he could “accent” our interior wood work (kitchen cabinets, mantle, wood trim, front door, etc..) and he did an amazing job! After that we asked if he could faux finish our formal living room and I was so impressed I kept asking him to paint additional rooms with the same technique. Every night before he left he would do a walk through and spot any work done during the day he was not satisfied with by marking the spots with a small piece of tape. The next day those areas were the first things addressed before they moved on to a different room. Last but not least, we planned on replacing the gold hardware in the home and it then occurred to me, “Can Larry paint my Chandeliers in an oil rubbed bronze rather than going out and buying a $500 replacement with the same finish?” Larry of course said he could paint them and I cannot express in words how impressed we were! Larry also apparently has a background in auto body paint, so he was able to show off those skills when he painted the chandeliers. Long story short, he wound up painting all of our floor vents, light fixtures, ceiling fans, shower door trim, and chandeliers and people cannot believe it when we tell them we kept the original hardware and just had Larry paint it. Larry was still able to meet our agreed upon completion date even after all of the creative requests I kept throwing at him. Before leaving we did a thorough walk through to insure I was completely satisfied with the final product and in the meantime he had his wife come over and help clean all the rooms they had been in. Larry is a fair, highly skilled, reliable, contractor who maintains a high standard of work from himself and his crew. We recommend Kustom Koatings to anyone who has a need for a professional paint service.
