Installation of new 10 food hood
    $21,000

Quoted me $21,000 and asked for 50% deposit. I accepted and gave Gabriel Martinez 2 checks on the amount of $10,500 for a job that never did. Its been 4 months and after calls and calls from this contractors, he keeps making false promises that the job will be completed. As of today, Im still waiting for the job to be at least started.
Now I dont want this irresponsible person to work on my project and requested full refund of my money. Mr Martinez keeps threating me that the ROC won't do nothing to him cause he knows people at all levels and he will never suffer any consequences.
I just want to to stop this scammer and for situations like this dont happen again to anybody.

    Verified Hire
    Considered for Multi-Room Remodel

We were asked for $5k to start. Then another $2.5k a week later, then another $1k a week after that. Work was not completed by dates “promised”...ever. I still paid because the contractor guilted me every time about needing money for vehicle repairs. Its very uncomfortable being asked for money over and over again by a stranger. They promised to come a couple Saturdays so I gave up doing things with my family, only for them to no show completely. I believe this happened on 2 Saturday’s. They broke my retaining wall by driving a forklift in my yard and hitting it (no one told me, I had to point it out because I noticed it when coming home one day). They fixed it right away but they used gray concrete to repair a brown wall and it does not look right....at all. Just another awkward situation. There were pallets of leftover pavers in my yard for weeks. I ultimately ended up getting rid of them because they were an eye sore. Halloween was coming and I wanted my yard nice and clear! Once I moved them, I realized a section of my yard had caved in because of the weight. Luckily it wasn’t a broken waterline. I assume professionals know better, apparently not. I should have asked them to use the driveway but I didn’t know better. Anyway, on to the bathroom. Tiles were cut poorly, other things were in installed poorly, and I truly believe these things were ONLY fixed because I had pointed them out. This made me wonder just how much experience this contractor really has. I wish Buildzoom would allow me to include pictures of the work, the damage, the mess left every day (food and drinks left in my bathroom and hallway overnight). They asked if they could put my toilet in front of my kids room while they worked on the bathroom and I said yes. I had no idea that it would sit there for an entire month or I would have said no. When the bathroom was finished, I noticed it looked like someone had used my toilet seat cover to cut something and damaged it so bad I had to buy a new one. Anyway, my contractor kept promising over and over that he’s a nice guy, an honest guy, etc. Im not leaving this 2 star review because my contractor was not friendly. Im leaving it because the entire month long experience was extremely stressful, awkward at many times, disappointing, and just mentally exhausting. I really don’t think think KWW sees anything from a customers stand point. This was not a side job done for a family or friend for a good deal. We paid a LOT of money...thousands, but weren’t treated in a professional manner at all. Ultimately, the work that was done was ok in the end but I had to be diligent. I believe any average bathroom remodelers could have done the work right the first time, a whole lot faster, and more professional all around. One star because my contractor was nice and was willing to fix the problems, and the other star because I learned a lot of valuable lessons from this experience.
