Kyle Gibson Rock-n-landscapes

We hired Kyle Gibson on June 11, 2018 after a month of discussion on what the job would entail. The agreement listed labor and materials to install a pool shell and automatic Coverstar brand cover. The contract, written and provided by Rock-n-Pools had milestone payment terms: deposit 50% at start of work, to order pool shell and cover (paid 6/15//18), 2nd deposit of 30% at placement of pool shell (paid 7/31/18) and 3rd deposit at placement of concrete (paid 10/19/18). All payments were made at the request of Kyle Gibson and were paid on time and directly to Mr. Gibson. It was the understanding by both parties that the complete installation would be done prior to freezing weather 2018. RnP never furnished a written schedule for the project even though it was requested.
The service has been poor right from the start. At no time during the project did RnP employees spend more than 2 full, 8 hour days on the job site. They would not show when scheduled and then show up on an unscheduled day when our other project (a shop) was going on and they could not be accommodated. When they did show, they would work a couple of hours at most, then have lunch in the shade in our back yard, work an hour or 2 more, then leave. Mr. Gibson was rarely at the job when his workers were and he would tell you what he thought you wanted to hear on job progress.
As of the end of March 2019, the pool is still unfinished. It was left open all winter filling with debris, freezing and covered with snow to the point that you couldn't even see it. We thought it was going to be OK as the pipes to the pump had never been opened and there were caps on inside the pool, but we now see that one of the caps broke off during the winter. We are still not to a place where we are able to check that it has not damaged anything. When Rock-n-Pools had poured the concrete they left an open trench for the mechanism for the cover. We had to cover that with plywood to make sure no person or animal accidentally fell into it. Even though the cover was paid for at the beginning of the job, his workers did come by once in late October 2018 to "take measurements". Why would they need to do that if they already had the cover? They also did not place rails in the concrete when they poured it, saying that it was easier to cut them in later.

We would STRONGLY recommend you look elsewhere for a pool contractor! We have had to hire another contractor to finish this job and are taking legal channels with Rock-N-Pools.
