I hired Gerry to install new doors and frames in my home. He was also supposed to replace baseboard moulding in my kitchen and redo a bathroom ceiling. This all began in April, 2021. I stupidly gave him $900.00 in cash because he had worked for my neighbor and I trusted him. Gerry bought all of the materials and began the job. I wasn't happy with the quality of his work and asked him if he "bit off more than he could chew." He assured me he would finish the project and that I would be completely satisfied when he was finished. He did more work and things started to look ok. Now it's summertime. Gerry ghosted me for weeks and only returned my call once I complained to my neighbor that recommended him. He assured me that he would finish the job. Gerry never returned my texts or phone calls. In addition, he had my house key so that he could enter the home to do the job. Gerry did leave my key hanging on the outside of my storm door where anyone could have found it. I have a shed full of moulding and doors. He maybe completed about a third of the job if that. he left a mess and now I have to find someone else to finish the job and my only recourse is to take him to small claims court. Never pay someone in cash at the onset of a job. I gave Gerry half of the money up front and have learned a very hard lesson! Don't hire this guy. He is AWFUL!!
