I gave 2 stars primarily because if you stand in the street and look at my house it looks nice. Once you walk inside the home my nice drops to "sufficient" Unfortunately I don't usually purchase a home to be "sufficient" and pay good money for it. As previously mentioned, the "sales" portion was great, they worked with me, said everything we wanted to hear. Once that is over and you give them a deposit of your hard earned money, that's where the customer service goes away. I actually had a realtor outside of Lacrosse Homes and I definitely recommend you doing that. Whenever I could not get an answer or response I set him on them and got the answers required.
The building process was what it was. I found it strange (and it should have been a warning) when you're using the same team and foreman for 3 homes in work (that I know of) as well as realizing the additional 2 waiting for a permit would also be using that same team. How can you get attention to details when they're juggling many houses. Does not work.
My initial walk thru was premature, the house was not ready for me. I've learned in the past once you sign that check over all bets are off for decent customer service. I should have stepped back at that time. There were so many things not completed they should have postponed the walk thru. Anyway it had been so long and I was guaranteed to have it done that I consented and moved forward (mistake). I'm into my 9 weeks since closing and my punch list from my original walk thru is still my punch list. I send a weekly email and so far the recipients have not acknowledged when the work will get done.
Let me give you a few examples:
1) Steps outside slider fell in the middle of my glass and blocked the view. To correct they just pushed it over which means you can't even reach the one railing. Not attached to anything so you have to be careful or fall as I did.
2) Someone cut about 5 boards in my flooring and tried to cover it up instead of fessing up and fixing.
3) Baseboard was not smoothly connected, to fix they sanded it down and put a load of paint in there to cover it up
4) Powder room counter did not come in, it's since been fixed.
5) Painting is typical what I call "builders primer" and poorly done. My black banister actually has a blue tint because they only put 1 coat on it. Now it'll be tough to finish the job.
6) Ran a sewer pipe in my basement blocking a window that I paid extra to have put in. The contractors do the same thing in every house and he never even thought about the window or thought it would be an issue.
If you're looking for a house where the details are important, go somewhere else. If "sufficient" is okay with you then sure contact Lacrosse homes.
