    Master Suite addition
    $34,000

These con-artists came in (formerly Lakeshore Construction Solutions), made false promises, took our money and ran. Then they changed their name to Lakeshore Custom Outdoors. The 3 main people around this company have done this in the past. Sadly, I only learned of this after the fact. Now I am out over $12,000(after lawyer fees) and I have not seen a dime of my money back. DO NOT HIRE! Check their names and make sure you never do business with any of them.

    bathroom repair
    $3,107
    7 days

They replaced a deck and repaired stairs to the beach in Douglas, Michigan, and the work was fine. They seem to play it by ear though and several times they had to start over. They indicated they do interior work so we invited them to repair our bathroom which had a rotted sub floor.
This has not worked out in the least. The very first day they did not cover the stack and we had a sewer overflow-- we worked for hours to pull out the debris of cement, tile, rotted wood etc. (I actually had to bring "Brady" a towel to cover the stack -- red striped towel in picture), but the debris was all over the basement. They left without cleaning any of it: I discovered it in the early evening while trying to do laundry.
The subfloor was improperly installed (we were told they did not have to replace entire sub floor by their managing partner, however what they did left the floor uneven. They are blaming me for this. Saying they told me it would be uneven! They did not, and of course there are problems.
The original problem of having a toilet that does not lay flush with the floor continues and it is propped up at least 1/2" to 3/4". I had our long time plumbing company come in to set the toilet. They were perplexed as to why the new tile was so uneven.
The tile does not meet the wall or the tub on all for sides and comes up short 1" to 1 and 1/2". They have no intention of finishing.
The plaster board that was installed left gaps for the electrical plate, and the outlet was plastered in.
The ceiling was gouged in the process of putting up the plaster board and
A brand new light fixture was scratched in 4 places (I saw what he was using to shorten the screws -- a hack saw--and asked him not to use that as it would scratch the light ($195.00)...)
A bill came but did not include a list of materials that I was promised at the unset. Instead the listed materials as one large charge. I purchased the tile, the grout, the mastic, the toilet, and the sink (which was also a problem)
We purchased a pedestal sink and had it here on day one. They never looked at it and proceeded to cover the walls before having the pipes moved to the wall (which we had no idea we had to do). Obviously they did not either, so the necessitated returning the pedestal and trying to find a small cabinet for this very small bathroom. Which they ended up not installing.
At the beginning of the project I was told they could do everything--the subfloor repair, the toilet installation, the tiling, the electrical, the plastering etc. That is not the case. I am not even sure if they are licensed to work in Grand Rapids!
They never returned to correct the problems and instead threatened to sue and place a lien on our home for non-payment.
The work needs to be corrected. They are refusing to do so. Plus when I called to complain about the bill--not the work at that point--the partner who answered, Brian Weener would not let me talk, instead started shouting at me. I answered in the same tone and he hung up.
I tried to work with "Brady" who was the construction lead however he referred it to the managing partner who now plans on suing for non-payment.
We plan on going to small claims court to issue a formal complaint and ask for all of our money back.
I would not recommend anyone use them for interior work.
We are in the process of getting bids to have the entire thing redone and redone correctly.
