    Bathroom remodel

    After promising a 3-5 week time line my bathroom renovation took 8 months. It started in July 2017, although I'm displeased with the end look and design the project is now done in February, 2018. I lost thousands in rent money due to the construction going on in my home. I myself was unable to stay in the home from July until December which I was financially not prepared for. The workers would not come for days and weeks at a time. I would call or text the contractor nearly daily, and go sometimes as long as a week without a response. I feared he took the money and ran on multiple occasions. He constantly tried to cut corners in the project. For example not installing vents and lights even though it was included in the proposal. He told me "we are not required to install a vent in the bathroom because by code you have an operable window."
    Another example: Instead of installing separate light switch receptacle for my closet and bathroom he combined them and centrally located the light switch between the two doors which are approximately 10' apart leaving the light switch in the middle of the wall and not near either of the rooms it was for.
    He told me on many occasions he was done! I would come check and find things like Floor tiles were cracked and broken and had to be replaced. Once the walls were covered in streaks and needed several more coats of paint. On the proposal I was charged for "priming and painting of the entire interior of property. To include all doors, trim, walls, and ceiling." After seeing my room and the bathroom covered in streak marks, and multiple areas of paint spills including on my new ceiling fans, I was not going to allow him to do my entire home, but I was still charged for this. When I finally used my shower it leaked out the base and flooded my bathroom and closet soaking my belongings. He did make that repair and then laid the wrong tile again extending the project an additional 3 months to make the corrections. He promised to clean my brand-new bedroom carpet due to many stains from the construction, and he never did.
    The workers left bags of concrete outside my side door for months blocking part of my drive way. When I tried to move the bags I discovered some of my bath towels had been used to wipe up grout and discarded without my knowledge. He did not offer to replace these. The overall look of the bathroom is sloppy. There are large grout smears all over the walls and floors of the shower. The rough edges of the tiles show in multiple areas leaving orange lines around the shower. The bathroom door cannot open all the way because of its location. The silicone bumper on my shower door was torn.
    It would also make me feel uncomfortable when he would request his draw payments even though the punchiest of items that he made would not be done. It was awkward for me to have to refer him to his own draw plan to explain when he receives payment.
    In conclusion he was over promising and never delivering.
