I gave Brendin Lange a deposit on 4/13/15 of $3,450 for a framing job in Boston and he has neither returned a call or returned the deposit since then. Be very careful with this guy as he is not true to his word.

    Frame a house
    4 days
    Unreliable

I hired them to frame a house on the north shore. They started out ok but it became clear right away they were not looking at the drawings closely. I had to have them re do a number of things that were clearly indicated on the drawings but they simply miss-measured or just ignored. Then they disappeared on me for over a week. They did return, but for the duration of their time on the site (a little over a month), they were typically understaffed (sending 2 guys out to do a four man job) and there were a number of days where they did not show up at all. Ultimately, they disappeared from the job altogether, leaving it incomplete and I having paid for work yet to be completed.
I have reached out to the owner repeatedly, only to get in touch with him once. He made some promises to me over the phone about future scheduling and staffing, but kept none of them, pulling all his guys to go work on some other job despite having assured me they would return to mine. I continued to reach out to him, but he stopped responding to me altogether. I tried to offer ways out of his initial contract that would be amenable to me and save him from having to refund me money or potential litigation, but he never responded. I have not seen or heard from him since.
Also worth noting: I checked the MA state web site and discovered that their contractor's license has recently expired. I have notified The Commonwealth Department of Public Safety, Board of Building Regulations and Standards as this company advertises that they are fully licensed and insured (I asked the owner for a copy of his insurance, but it was never provided). As of this date (6/10/2015) he is still listed as having an expired license.
Also, I reached out to the Mass office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. They govern HIC (Home Improvement Contractor) licensure. They told me that this outfit and the owner have had several (3) complaints already formally filed against them and have be repeatedly fined and had their HIC license revoked. As of this date, none of the fines have been paid and their license remains inactive.

To rectify water & ice damage
    Landmark Bulding & Framing

The company entered into a contract with me on Aril 1, 2015. I was told that once they started the job it would take about 2 weeks to complete. My insurance company had sent me a partial payment check of $7,500. In the contract it stated that I would give the monies to him (Brendin Lange, owner of Landmark) and was requested to give him a $2,000 deposit, which I did. We had agreed that he would start the job at the beginning of May. Well it was May 28 and they were running late. They arrived at around 1:30 pm and stayed about 3 & 1/2 hours, at which time he said that they would be back on Friday & Saturday. That was fine with me. He asked me for the remainder of the insurance money and told me that from now on he would deal directly with the insurance company & they would sent the payments directly to him, therefore I would not have to worry about anything. He also put in the contract that he was gong to do some work that was not related to the damage. He was a smooth talker. They ever showed that Fri, Sat, Mon or Tues. He did send 3 people on Wed for about 4 hours. He was to submit a proposal to the insurance co. which he did not do until Wed. June 10. He never returned any messages, e-mails, or texts. I am a senior citizen and am so frustrated and believe I have been taken advantage of. Also the proposal he submitted to the insurance was ridiculous and highly inflated by thousands of dollars and he said he also had to add to that proposal because he hadn't added the damage to the outside f my home. I a now going to take legal action against him.

Deceptive & Unprofessional. Frustrated in Stoughton, MA. This company took on a contract to repair my home do to the severe water & ice damage incurred this past winter. They also tried to inflate the charges to my insurance company stating that they would do additional work and charge it to my insurance carrier. They also stated that they would not charge me my deductible. They came to work for a total of about 10 hours. Now I can't reach Brendin Lange, owner of LandMark Construction to return any of my phone calls, e-mails & text messages. My only recourse is to take legal action. I did give them deposit of $7,500 & I do have a signed contract.

    Remediate water damage
    $7,000
    Unethical and deceptive

The company took on project to repair ice dam water damage in my small central MA home in late April. The company engaged in grossly inflated and fraudulent insurance supplemental claims outside the scope of their work, attempting to skim thousands of dollars from the insurer while performing poor quality work for me, the homeowner. I have ordered the company to stop work until we resolve their billing and work standards practices, and they have made no attempt to do so. I am preparing to sue this company for breach of contract and hold them accountable for their deceptive and unethical business practices.

snow and ice removal from roof
    $700
    1 day
    Snow removal

Landmark advertised for winter roof cleanup services on Craigslist. I called and set up an appointment for the work after settling on a fee.
They were supposed to come in the morning but said they were running late. By the end of the day they were a no show and did not respond to calls and messages. They messaged the next day saying they would come that day, but were AGAIN a no show with no responses to multiple calls and messages.
My guess is that they confirmed as many appointments as they could due to the high demand and then ignored the clients they could not get to.
    Very unethical business model.
