Avoid at all costs! I recently purchased a 12 year old laser cutter that needed some replacement parts to resume operation. Tried for two months to get any kind of support from Laser Photonics and got nothing. They said they have lost all documentation for equipment sold 12 years ago and are not interested in sending a field tech for a site visit, will not provide equipment manuals for this or similar machines in hardcopy or PDF, and will not assist in any way unless I buy a new system or ship the entire 14 ton machine to them so they can 'see if there's anything we can do'. Maybe they know how their own machine works. Maybe they don't. Spend $20,000 to ship it to them and both of you can find out!
They did offer to sell me another complete, less powerful laser source they had on the shelf to replace a cut fiber optic cable though- only about $100,000! Contacting IPG Photonics (the laser source manufacturer) directly revealed you can get a new cable for about $1,700. The only thing Laser Photonics has tried so far has been to see if they can scam me for over $90,000.
