After completing my insurance job, I hired the company, Phat Le (owner), to paint the trim and garage. The garage was painted during moist weather. Phat Le convinced me it was fine. Maybe it was, but my garage doors were sticking the following day when I tried to open them. When I told Phat Le, he said none of the other houses that his contractors had done were sticking. Both garage doors dented at the top (and metal slightly pulled away from the garage door) after I tried opening them the following day. They wouldn’t come up initially. Phat Le wouldn’t even come to take a look. He wanted to send the paint guy that hadn’t showed up after two hours (received message he was in route). He said he did over two million dollars in sales the previous year, but he doesn’t take credit cards. Hindsight, after receiving the check, he said he would be there on a Thursday. When Thursday came, he said he was in Frisco or somewhere and couldn’t make it. He said he would come Saturday. I am sure, hindsight, he had no intentions of coming to take a look or even to do a check or review of the contractor’s work. He was waiting for the check to clear. On Saturday, when I initiated contact with him, he said he doesn’t work on Saturdays and I haven’t heard anything further. He is not the person he presents . He can be soft spoken one minute and flip, until he realizes it is his business. Because I am an older black woman, he thinks it is ok (my opinion); but it is not. He even offered to give me the ear pods that were in his ears, if I hired him to do another job I am having done. I am not complaining about the people he contracts to do the work. I am complaining about Phat Le’s ethics. Be careful and do not pay by check. The only recourse is court, when you do. Furthermore, I suggest avoid hiring him.
Also, there is paint smeared on the bricks that I noticed after the painter left. I asked Phat Le to come take a look. He hasn’t and is not responding.
