Turns out integrity is not a to-be-expected trait of former marines. We contracted with Leatherneck Management to do a few window installations and entryway repair – and they stole our deposit. During the estimate, Joe repeatedly focused on the fact that the company is comprised of marine vets, hence the ‘Leatherneck’ name, and claimed that this detail would mean that with them we would get top-notch integrity and work ethic. We liked the price and the proposed work, and I’m rather into businesses that operate with pride and honor, so we signed a contract and gave them a 1/3 deposit (~$1,400). Work was to start in early September. Joe confirmed the start-time in late August…and that’s the last I heard from them. Over the past 5 weeks I have tried calling, emailing, texting, and contacting through web-based contractor clearing services, and they have been too cowardly to even respond. I saw another reviewer has had a similar experience in the past month, where Leatherneck Management stole their deposit as well.
Leatherneck Management is a terrible stain on the reputation of our veterans. To be blunt, this experience has made me less likely to hire vets who wear their service on their sleeve as if it assures high quality. Sullying the reputation of vets is perhaps the greater crime here. These folks have no integrity.
