As a professional residential/small commercial lighting designer, I had the opportunity to work with Ledson on a large residential project on the Big Island. This was a decade ago. During that time, I found his management of the project lacking and disorganized. The first electrical firm quit the project due to disagreements with Ledson over payments. A second electrical firm had to be hired, and brought up to speed on the project. The lighting design and control system was sophisticated, and required an expert electrician and systems installer. Ledson did not seem to realized this point. His subs were of basic quality, and barley finished the project; not without additional finish-out problems and extensive punch lists to complete. Robin did not hire a on-site manager for this project, which was a severe set-back for sub-contractors needing installation resolution and questions answered during the day. Ledson showed up on site once a week to check on progress. The construction of a 8900sq/ft residence requires an on-site project manager to coordinate the subs correctly and efficiently. In the end, the owner was not happy, and had a severe headaches to deal with afterwards.
