    HVAC Service

Stay away from Lee Heating and Cooling. Predators feeding on the elderly! They tried thier rip off scheme twice on my elderly mother. Twice, theydisconnected her heat and told her she would die if she didn't pay $11k and then $13k to replace her entire system because her heater was putting out deadly amounts of carbon monoxide. Both times, other companies were called for a second opinion. Both times, the other companies reconnected the heat and were not able to find a carbon monoxide leak. There is a carbon monoxide detector less than 10 feet from the area where the leak is supposed to be and has never been activated. This is the most blatantly dishonest company I have ever dealt with. If you are an older person with an older HVAC system, stay away from these people

    AC repair
    $500

Avoid using. I was distracted while the tech was there and didn’t realize how little work he was actually going to do. When I saw the invoice and realized I had paid $500 for him to change 2 wire nuts I called immediately, but was basically told that’s our fee, you signed off on it

Find and repair a leak in my HVAC unit
    $1,363

    DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!
    1. They say 24 hour service, but did not answer or call me back on cold Saturday night.
    2. Tech(Giovanni) showed up with a leak detector tool
    3. Tech misdiagnosed my problem 2 times and I had to call Economy, who found the problem in 2 minutes and fixed it fast.
    4. Charged me $314 dollars for first pound of refrigerant and $175 per pound for more. Economy charges $89 for each pound.
    5. Manager Steve not very customer friendly and told me it really didn’t matter if I was a customer anymore.
    6. Read on for details.
On a call Saturday evening my heat was blowing cold. So I called Lee heating about 10:30. They are supposed to be 24 hour, but nobody answered and did not return my call even though I left a message. Finally next morning I call and tech agrees to come out.
He looks at unit and see a little staining near the valve you fill the outside unit with. He assumes it leaked from there. He refills system and waited for 10 minutes and all seemed well. He did not have a leak detector with him to confirm there was no leak.
That night about 8 hours later, again the system blows cold air, not heat. I call them back. Giovanni comes back out, and while looking at the same valve, he sees a mist coming out the top. He looks up there and sees some oil on top of the grate. He then tells me the coil has a hole in the top and I need a new coil. He did not look further into the unit to see if it could be coming from elsewhere. He said I need to call the company that installed the unit. So I called Economy. They come out the next day, and in less than 2 minutes he sees the problem and shows me. There is a leak in one of the copper solder joints where it vibrates as the unit is working. This is a known problem with these unit. He takes the fan off, pushes lightly on that joint, and you can here it leak. He solders it in a couple minute. He then spends the next 90+ min pressure testing it with nitrogen. This apparently cleans out impurities and can show minimal pressure loss. Lee heating never did this. Finishes and recharges, checks to make sure sure the temps coming out of unit are good, and all has been good since.
I called Lee to let them know my concerns. The woman said she will pass it to her manager Steve. 9 days later I call back because he never called me back. I finally get to speak to him and he defends they did everything right and tells me it really does not matter if I am a customer of theirs anymore. He said they did their job by getting my system working again, even though only for 8 hours or so. He said on the second visit the correct call was to call the installing company. So if you only want a temporary fix, call Lee. If you want a real fix, please call Economy. They were totally awesome and don’t overcharge you for the refrigerant. Steve was totally unprofessional and unwilling to waiver that they did any wrong, even though it was actually only a 5 minute fix. So I had to pay twice. They lost me and anybody I know as customers for life.
    Thanks Steve.

    regular yearly maintenance

I had them come by for the $29.99 special for inspection. Not only did they not finish the inspection, we ended up paying them over $700.00 to replace a relay switch. The tech told my wife our unit was too fragil to complete the required maintenance. Then convinced her to pay $199.00 to cover 2 more visits this year. They came back the next week after I complained about the maintenance not being performed. They counted that as one of the $199.00 visits and still didn't even clean out the drain line. I hooked up my shop vac and cleaned out my drain line. Sent them a photo and instructed them not to come back to my residence. These people have no ethics, and charged over $500.00 for a relay switch that sells for less than $100.00. I would advise every homeowner to stay away from these thieves.

My AC unit was cooling fine but I called Lee for an annual tune up, The tech was polite but after adding excess ($340) Freon my AC locked up. I could not get Lee to come and fix it. I called another AC service and after removing excessive Freon my AC unit started up and has been running fine since. This could not be resolved with their management.

    service

Technician was very polite and professional. On time and easy to talk with about concerns, I had about my A/C unit. My husband and I were very pleased! The shoe cover were very much appreciated.
Mr. Hoffman was very knowledgeable. An excellent technician for your company.
