By Ryan D.February 5, 2017subcontracting to me Ryan$2001 dayRead more
I want everyone to be aware, of the miss use of paint products and sub-contractors. I contacted him, Doug Anderson, about subcontracting newly Built homes . He said he would be happy to try my services , the next morning Doug Anderson called me to come to work without asking for an ID or permits So I get my assistant and go to the job on 01/20/2017, thinking its an interior because the temperature and the winter storm warnings that day. We get to the job and Doug is spraying the exterior of a new home with 2 inches of ice on the ground and snow melting off the roof and using ladders and spraying over bear wood with A-100 a non priming paint , this type of paint takes 35 degrees for 24 hours to properly bond . I told him I could not work for such a low rate and he insistently talked me into staying to spray and I supplied the sundries . I stayed long enough, about an hour more or less to set up my sprayer and try to start working, when I went to spray the fausa trim there was water dripping on the surface of the wood. After my assistant and I realized the DANGER AND PRODUCT's MISS-USE INVOLVED, I was concerned for our safety and Reputation. We started cleaning our equipment and stopped painting . When Doug saw us cleaning up he quickly tried to persuade us into staying to help with his deadlines and spray the 2500 Sq.foot home. I told him I was not going to stay because it would actually cost me money to paint the house and at that point he got upset with me and refused to pay me anything even for my help and supplies. When I got to the site I ask Doug if he wanted copies of my legal documents and he stated he was too busy painting and on phone calls that he would check it out after I was done painting the house and to" hurry and paint before the snow storm hits". I reluctantly started as said above. I also met one of the builders .He shook my hand and asked if I was working for Doug and was happy we were there painting in the weather for Doug , I feel bad for the home owners because they will have to pay extra to have all the caulking scraped off the walls and cracks . It just so happens that my wife and I purchased a new home from the same Builder about 2 years ago and all the paint and caulk is cracking and the walls are covered in wax bleed through, all because of improper application which voids paint warranties from Paint suppliers . I strongly believe I have to let others know about the outright disregard for the employment laws , and the home buyers that are in homes like mine. These are mid-level priced houses with low level work because of low pay and underpaid subcontractors and the neglect for the rights to work and purchase a quality home that will last more than 1 or 2 years . I would give 0 Stars if possible. If you are thinking of hiring or working for: Doug, I would strongly advise against the thought . He is a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing and your Company could be liable for his neglect of laws and Paint Procedures. This is the kind of company that does not care about customers or colleagues long term or short... I have more but I think I've said enough... Also, after requesting to be paid after the work and supplies I provided I have yet to be reimbursed and paid for my services. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and gain knowledge before purchasing any type of work done by this individual.

Avoid Leisure Time at all costs. I placed an order for a fireplace in October, and they said they could have it installed the following week. We knew we only had a few weeks before winter weather was coming, so I happily agreed since they said they could get the job done quickly.
Well, now I know why they are called Leisure Time... because they do everything at their leisure, and at a very leisurely pace.
Here we are six weeks later, in mid-December, and I still don't have a fireplace I can use. I have a foot of snow on the ground, my chimney is still open to the elements because they haven't installed the chimney cap. They had over an entire month, about 45 days, to complete this install, and yet it remains incomplete.
They never come when they say they will, they don't answer phone calls... they just are plain awful and I wish I never would have used them.
Terrible business, terrible customer service. I will never use Leisure Time again and highly recommend you go anywhere else.
