    DRY WALL REPLACEMENT

    DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR!

    Mr. Heffner promised a good job, but he turned out to be an arrogant, incompetent, untrustworthy liar and totally botched the job, leaving me now unable to finish a home restoration that I had been working on for 19 months - until this is resolved. He promised to be done in one week. Then he promised to be done the second and third weeks. When he finally finished after ELEVEN weeks, the job was totally botched and he refuses to fix it properly. He knew I was under an insurance deadline to finish, yet he still hi-jacked my home and progress for 10 weeks. He began to put other new jobs in front of mine already on the first week. From weeks four to eleven, he was continually absent. There were continual un-kept promises, no shows, not even a call when there was a no show, no return calls to me. Please know that he had access to my home 24/7, as I left a key for him and told him he could work at any time. When I finally did reach him only by continually calling him until he finally picked up, he gave me excuses after excuses and lots of talk about other jobs that he was on. All of these jobs that kept him from finishing my job were new jobs that he accepted after beginning my job. He sent unskilled workers to do the job who showed up for an hour or two here and there and just "threw stuff on the walls". I am paraphrasing, but these are his own similar words. When the workers did show up, it was mostly after working all day elsewhere. They were exhausted and unhappy about having to work more. No one person took responsibility for doing my job correctly. Mr. Heffner did not supervise the unskilled workers who did not have the experience or knowledge to do this job. This botched job is now going to cost me thousands of dollars to fix, as the drywall needs to be ripped out (again! I already paid for this) and the job needs to begin all over. He had the nerve to begin yelling at me when I told him I needed the job fixed properly. He wants to give me a second rate (10th rate, if there is such a phrase) solution. No one who has seen the job would be satisfied with the work if this was in their home. Several experts have shaken their head and said "this needs to be ripped out and the job started all over again". I have filed a complaint with consumer affairs and will go on to litigation if that doesn't work. Because I am under pressure from my insurance company and the mortgage holding bank to finish the job within the next few weeks, my monetary losses will be thousands extra if this botched job does not get resolved quickly. The dry wall was the first step of about five more to the restoration. Until the dry wall is correct, I can't continue on the remainder of the restoration. He was very quick to ask for - and even demand - his money, though. When I gave him the last payment, he told me he was almost done and swore he would be done that week. To add final insult, he and his crew did not clean up after the job. It took six to seven hours to sweep and vacuum the dust up and to clean the tiles, which had spackle all over them because his unskilled worker did not bother to put down a drop cloth. They also left their beverage bottles all over and their cigarette butts outside my door.

    He has operated under RNJ Contracting previously, and now I see has similar complaints about him. Do not use this contractor. Call me if you have any questions or if you want to see my botched dry wall 609-448-6005.
