If you want a builder who will threaten their customer with a defamation lawsuit for telling the truth online, it speaks to the ethical nature of the builder who will stop at nothing to cover their tracks. Lemel Homes failed to remove their markup(over $10k) on projects removed from the scope of work prior to signing the contract. I signed the contract thinking that the markup was removed. After questioning Lemel Homes about this issue, they're cookie cutter response was that I approved of it. The items were removed prior to the contract being signed, therefore Lemel Homes had no right to their markup. Only an unethical builder would take advantage of that situation. Fast forward to the construction and warranty phase. The finished trim was installed prior to the final coat of paint in 1/4 of the house. Instead of doing the right thing and removing the trim and painting, Lemel Homes taped and painted along the trim leaving many spots with paint on the stained trim. During the warranty walk thru, I expressed my concern and assumed it would be rectified correctly. Of course, Lemel Homes chose the laziest and cheapest fix by caulking the edge of the trim and repainting. It still did not match the fit and finish of the rest of the house. Their response was that it was done to "industry standard", which is their code for "we are done, screw you". The worst mistake of my life was choosing Lemel Homes. To prevent this unethical and unscrupulous builder from suing me for defamation, this review is my opinion of the horrible job that they did on my house.
