Michael and LGA Construction built the brand new house I just bought and we're already looking at at least $10k (likely more) to fix everything, including multiple issues Michael promised to fix and then ghosted on.

Do not hire Michael or LGA. Do not buy a home built by LGA. Michael is very friendly and will say anything to please you, but if you have any issues at all, he will give you excuse after excuse and then finally bail on you and cut contact. I don't know if he's a snake or if he's actually a nice guy who's just constantly in over his head, but I do know that there's an 8-foot hole in my wall that he promised to fix 6 months ago.

    house remodel
    $109,000

LGA did 7 Remodels and Additions for my business. They were wonderful and very profitable for me in my workings with them. Michael is a very professional individual and extremely well detailed so I was shocked to see these reviews. I do recall of the Kitchen addition and how his Uncle Zeke took advantage of him and his company as his lead PM. Michael mentioned that Zeke had overly underbid that project and LGA actually spent 17 grand of its own money to try and compensate for falling short due to the client not having any more money to save the project. I think its sad that although the estimated cost were under bid that these people would speak of Michael that way. What I understand is the structure was built in the early 1900's and built on a wood foundation. Michael bid 90k for the addition however Zeke did not account for the older structure and updating the framing of the old home which killed the budget. Michael later fired his PM Zeke and hired ASEO Construction to assist with the completion however Gus Guin the owner did not pay his employees and further left the project in disarray. This industry is tough as a house flipper let alone a GC. Michael said he spent his last 17 grand trying to make good of the clients and as that well dried up it led to the demise of LGA in which was a great start up construction company. It is a shame when clients can't foot the cost of in contingencies and unforeseen then take advantage of trying to uphold a under bid cost. Both the home owner and the GC should have worked together financially to help with a better conclusion. I spoke to Michael in regards to this and he said the client won't understand the process of construction until the cost of the process exceeds their cost then they point the finger. Michael is a great guy and he tries hard to please and sometime too much. He should have communicated better when the well dried up and funds weren't there. Point plank 90 grand for a large kitchen addition and high end finish without fixing the existing problem is an amateur mistake on Zeke's behalf and according to review is that slime ball actually screwed over the other review that posted pictures. Michael told me when I asked about his reviews that they are all family, the kitchen project and the pictured project and Zeke was known to screw over his family and LGA in the end as he illegally used his Contractor License to get these jobs. In conclusion Michael has made me a lot of money and flipped many houses successfully for me.

kitchen remodel and expansion plus roof and siding
    $90

Michael never finished our Kitchen expansion plus remodel. The work he got some crews to do was shoddy and we now have to fix to repair and complete the project. Not to mention the thousands of dollars we handed over to get cabinets done, never to be delivered. Or the fact that he left us without a kitchen for over one year. Or how about the fact that we did not have heat for months during the winter until a subcontracted guy felt so awful he made sure to get it done for us. Michael and LGA are the worst of the worst and everyone should be aware.

Hallway: Demo soffits and raise ceiling to the same level as surrounding areas. Match existing textu
    $8,000
    60 days

This is strictly a review of LGA's construction manager Zeke Santos.

We used Zeke Santos since his pricing was competitive. Everything started out fine, he was very responsive in providing his quote, followed-up immediately when we had questions. It was great till we awarded the job:

    - Zeke is not a certified licensed contractor through Washington State L&I. Look him up to see if he is there now (I doubt it). Since he is not licensed he is not bonded or insured. If something goes wrong on your property you are legally responsible for any injuries, claims etc. This puts you at huge financial risk.
    - He brought on 2 guys to assist the project Bill and Shawn since he was "wrapping up another project" Zeke would stop by occasionally to check-in and would use Bill/Shawn as his scapegoat for all the missteps and quality issues. Come to find out that Shawn is a framer and has no craftsmanship experience. This was just the beginning of his many excuses.
    - Then he would make every excuse in the book for not showing up. Some examples include: "my truck broke down," "I have gout," "I'm bidding on other projects," "I have migraines," "my crawlspace is flooded." He doesn't even own the house! You kind of get the picture here.
    - We gave him every opportunity to complete the project and make things right but never followed through.
    - Now we have been requesting reimbursement for the past 2 months to-date and again has made up every excuse in the book. These include: "I'm waiting for a check on another project to pay you," "I've got a job lined up this week and will get you money by Saturday," "I'm trying to get some more work so I can pay you."

This has been one of the worst experiences in my life to the point of divorce, my credit is completely gone down the drain since I was counting on this reimbursement to pay my mortgage. I would not wish this situation on my worst enemy. Again, stay away at all cost.·Please ping me if you need additional information.

    Carport and studio
    $34,000
Took our money and never finished job

We hired Michael LaGuardia & Tommy Briola with LGA Construction llc to build a simple carport and studio for us.

We provided payment for the foundation and framing stages. Problems were immediate. Foundation work was sloppy and had many mistakes. Framing work was started but was also very sloppy—they did not follow the plans and much of the work had to be redone.

They came just one day a week, and eventually disappeared altogether. In the end LGA only completed 90% of the foundation and just under half the framing (and really less than that because most of it needed to be redone) but he kept all of our money. We are now in the process of pursuing this legally.

Hardwood and Tile floors and remodeled my bathrooms.
    $26,500.00

    Bathroom Remodel

A friend of mine referred Michael to me for some tile and hardwood work on my floors. He was very professional from the start and presented himself well with good knowledge. His crew was very nice and hardworking. They not only did my floors but also remodeled both my bathrooms and did a great job. He came in less $2700.00 than my other bids and I was skeptical but they executed well. I would definitely recommend Michael as he is a young and hardworking guy with great aspiration.
