After consulting with Gregory about what needed to be done to level our family room concrete floor, in preparation for installation of hardwood flooring, he gave me an estimate of $1,080. He mentioned that he would work with us on price and the length of his warranty if we got a lower estimate elsewhere. I talked it over with my husband and he called Gregory and hired him for the repair at an even $1,000. They scheduled the work for June 4th (Gregory said it would be a 1 day job.) On the 4th Gregory called to inform us that his crew would be at our house around 4pm and would be done with the work by 8pm. At 3:30 one of the crew members called and cancelled, saying that the customer they were helping that morning wanted additional work done and that they would now not be able to get to our house until June 12th (more than a week later with 30 minutes notice.) After being forced to reschedule the wood installation and living in cramped conditions while our family room has no floor for the past week, my husband called Gregory today (June 10th) to ask if he would be willing to lower his price by $50 for the inconvenience. Gregory proceeded to give him a list of excuses, told my husband that we are the type of customers who are never happy, that we are trying to nickel and dime him, that he doesn't need our business, and that he wants half of our payment for the job in the form of a cashier's check! I am in absolute shock! We were ready to pay his crew in cash on the 4th and still have the money in hand but will NOT be giving it to Lift Up Concrete. As much as I would like to have this project over and done with we are now back at square one and looking for a different contractor. Gregory struck me as a hyper salesman type on the day he came to our house. Wow. If he had simply said no to our request for the $50 we would have accepted it, fair enough, but to be totally belittled and insulted just for asking is unprofessional to say the least.
Just to show how unprovoked this encounter was - my husband actually still agreed to have the work done on the 12th for the full $1,000 even after Gregory's rant. That is how mellow my husband is. Although, after getting off the phone and replaying what seemed almost unreal in his mind, he thought better of it and called back to cancel. He was forced to leave a message as usual though because Gregory has yet to actually answer his phone when we've called him to schedule the appointment, hire him for the job, ask what time his crew would arrive, and finally ask for the $50 price reduction. He does call back sometime within 24 hours but good luck with what he might say to you when he does!

What prompted me to write this review was the recent amount of shoveling my husband and I have been doing the last three weeks. We were discussing how glad we were to have our entire west side of our home (which has a walkway that wraps around that side of the house) lifted. In the past winters we have had potential flooding to our basement because of the uneven concrete causing the water run off to slop to our home as well as our uneven sidewalk that you often broke your shovel on when trying to shovel it. In May of 2012 we were toiling with the idea of replacing the concrete. We called several contractors and many of them gave us a bid to replace the concrete. However when we called Lift-Up Concrete Lifting they mentioned that given the condition of the concrete it might be able to be easily solved with just lifting it and replacing it might not be the solution. As we met with their sales guy we were very impressed with how professional, patient and thorough he was in describing what the process is and how it works. A week later their crew came out and completed the job with caution, precision and excellent customer service. We could not be happier with the finished product and service provided by Lift Up Concrete.

Gregory did work on the house I purchased recently through the previous owners per my request. He was supposed to life the front porch because it was falling away from the house. He told the previous owners he couldn't continue lifting due to possible damage to the home. When the told us we signed saying they did all they could. Upon moving in we had water come in our front door, then noticing our door is completely out of place our brick on the front of the house is cracked and pulling away from the house. And the porch is in a worse position than before. He had a 2 year warranty on the contract. He will not honor his warranty or even consider trying to repair the damage he caused. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Terrible work and even worse customer care.
