Five years ago, LSD-B did a serious remodel to my Bay View bungalow. My main objective was to move the dangerous, cold stairwell from the back corner to behind the dining room which was centrally located. All the subcontractors did a professional job, but some major factors - ones that the architect/owner should have known would be a problem - have left me with more problems. Firstly, the new, open stairwell works as a cold-air return from the second floor, and my enlarged kitchen is freezing in the winter. Even space heaters don't help much. More importantly, the stairwell was designed in such a way that the angles do not allow for large, standard-sized items *(18x36x72") to be moved in or out of the basement. Professional movers said that there would be no problem with a washer or dryer, but nothing larger is capable of being maneuvered in or out. Without normal access to the basement, my house is not sellable. A certified letter was forwarded to the previous partner (now retired, but works occasionally on projects with the company), who has not answered any of my numerous calls to fix the problems. Despite the fact that the company still exists, it is taking no responsibility for the mess it created.
