We purchased a spec home in Toll Brothers Monterey and for some reason, the builder incorporated a "privacy wall" on our rear patio that cut off a third of our backyard and limited our view of the landscape/pond. We decided we wanted to make a large opening in the wall, much like other homes in the development had. I posted my project on Buildzoom and three GC's reached out to me and all three came to see the project and all three submitted a bid. Jose from Lloyd Builders went the extra mile by contacting the engineering company who prepared the design to ask specific questions about the project and if certain alternatives were acceptable. It was this extra effort on his part that made me decide I wanted to work with Jose. Jose was very professional throughout the entire process and kept us informed of each step in the project. He was there for much of the work ensuring subcontractors were informed of exactly what we were looking for and monitoring quality of the work. In a number of instances he wasn't quite happy with the result and he had the technicians redo the work. There were a number of small issues that came up during the work that I hadn't thought of when outlining my project, such as removing the footer down below the wall so that a new deck could be installed. Jose accommodated those changes without an upcharge which I fully expected. The result is exactly what we wanted and both my wife and I were very happy with the work of Lloyd Building Solutions and would definitely recommend Jose to family, friends and anyone looking for a conscientious and detailed General Contractor who is fair and easy to work with.
