I hired Local Pro Builders to renovate my kitchen and bathroom after water damage. What started as a hopeful project with a reasonable budget quickly turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience.
At first, Tal was reassuring, promising everything would be fixed within budget. We agreed that the lower kitchen cabinets, counter top, and flooring would be replaced, and the bathroom would be completely gutted, waterproofed, and rebuilt. Things took a turn when mold was discovered behind the kitchen cabinets. I was charged extra for new drywall and insulation — something I could understand — but when I raised concerns about mold in the bathroom, which was supposed to be fully gutted anyway, they wouldn't remove visibly moldy drywall behind the toilet and next to the tub.
Despite repeated concerns, we were told the wall was “salvageable” and they tiled over it. Only after messaging Tal again did he agree to send someone back — but it doesn’t look like anything was done to address the area that was already tiled. Infact they just put drywall mud over the mold. Trying to make it look like they did something. The waterproofing they promised? It was only done around the tub. The rest of the bathroom, including exposed and unfinished areas, was left vulnerable.
Now that the project is supposedly “complete,” Tal asked for the final payment multiple times. We are left with, damaged door molding from installing the vanity, missing or incomplete caulking, a visible gap in the flooring, ungrouted and unsealed tiles showing the subfloor, moldy walls, and sloping floors they promised to level but never did. The heater vent in the bathroom is the old rusty one, and the one in the kitchen was completely lost. The drywall in the kitchen was never fully mudded, and the patch in the bathroom was never sanded down.
To be fair, the new countertops are beautiful — but unfortunately, that's one of the only things done right.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Local Pro Builders. What should have been a smooth renovation ended with poor workmanship, broken promises, and unfinished details.
