Working with Lockhart Construction has been different in the best of ways from the initial meeting. The company solved problems that others had no knowledge how to do (10), get this company if you want it done correctly. I now see a beautiful, well constructed roof completed by an exceptional crew. I have already referred to friends! Couldn’t be happier! Now for the new project they will be hired to do!

Lockhart Construction: Business Review
About six years ago I had my roof and skylights replaced by Lockhart roofing, Jacksonville Florida. A few days after completion, it began to rain. The skylights leaked, allowing lots of rainwater to damage the ceiling in a bathroom. This leaky condition continued unabated for several days. All the while I pleaded with Lockhart to fix the problem. They ignored my pleas until I used an independent contractor to convince Lockhart that the extent of damage caused by the leak was spreading. Lockhart then corrected the problem, but refused to pay for the replacement of sheetrock and painting.
Fast forward to the current issue 12/01/2022. I had been noticing wavy shingles on an area of the roof. Below the wavy shingles a depression had formed, creating a puddle like effect when it rained. Pleading with Lockhart to fix the problem began. All pleas observed proper decorum. I had called and texted numerous times. In some instances, they said they would take care of it, but they did not. Other times they ignored the pleas.
After several months of no progress with Lockhart, I took steps to mitigate the problem. First, I called a licensed home inspection company to determine the nature of the problem and how to correct it. The inspection company found a metal fastener that had not been attached, causing the roof’s wood decking to sag. This first inspector also found the dryer vent tube emptying into the attic rather than attached to a vent in the roof as the construction code states. This was not an oversight. It was a willful act. Lockhart shingled over vent that was present in the prior roof.
I called in a second licensed home inspector. His findings were the same as the first one. Both inspectors concluded that this roof condition must be remedied. I called in a licensed roofer for his opinion on how this condition should be fixed. The roofer proposed decking and shingle replacement in the affected area. He also proposed installing and connecting a dryer vent.
All repairs have now been completed by the roofer whose proposal for repair I accepted in a written contract. This contractor was not Lockhart.
All statements in this review of Lockhart’s performance are documented and photographed. Invoice of repair cost will follow. Final repair cost was $2455.25. Lockhart again refuses to pay for the damage they caused. -

Shane is one of the most honest contractors that I have ever met. We first met 2.5 years ago when I asked him for a re-roof estimate on my personal home. Shane came out, inspected my roof and informed me that my roof had at least two more years of life remaining and didn't need to be replaced at the time.
Fast forward 2 years and we had a tree fall on the roof of our rental home. I called Shane to who came out fairly quickly, gave me an estimate for the rental home re-roof as well as updating the re-roof estimate for my personal home.
I had estimates from other roofing contractors for both homes that were much more that what Shane had quoted.
Much to my surprise, Shane's crew was able to re-roof both of my houses within the same week. The crew showed up early and worked late every day. Once they were done, everything was cleaned up as if they were never there.
Highly recommend this contractor that does good work at a very fair price.

The owner of this company, Shane, does not respond to many of my phone calls, or numerous text messages. I used Lockhart roofing back when Hurricane Irma (2017) totally destroyed by tile roof. This company replaced my very large, expensive roof with an expensive shingle roof. I have had numerous problems over the years since he did the roof. He did come back a few times, not willingly, but came back, tore up shingles, used my extra and I have had nothing but problems for 5 years. He stopped answering my calls, causing me to call in another roofer. I have now totally paid almost $3400 in repairs since my new roof was installed . I do not recommend this roofer. He was there to take the insurance money but not willing to come back and fix faulty work.

Lockhart repaired Chimney and flashing. Was chosen after having about 4 other roofers look at the situation and not addressing all the issues. They did excellent work and fair price. I would recommend.

Our experience was great this was second time working with lockhart construction and roofing. The first time they came out immediately and fixed damaged to roof after hurricane. This time they did full roof replacement and did excellent job. Employees were nice and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend

No would not recommend Four year old roof leaked come out to look claimed need chalking not related to roofing but would come and fix called numerous times would not respond. Called another respected roofer used by several neighbors pointed out numerous places roofing done improperly (around vents) fix poor work no more leaks

I cannot say enough good things about this group. We had storm damage in October 2016 and were ditched by our insurance company, then we had 3 roofers either decline our project or disappear on us. FINALLY in February we were recommended to Shane and we had a great interview. Their proposal was thorough and fair and we were put on a short waiting list, understandably. They provided us many options and good samples to see on site. Once scheduled, they showed up bright and early with the crew and a dumpster and they worked very long days until it was 100% done. They encountered a lot of hidden wood rot and their carpentry was excellent. The charges for the hidden rot was very fair. We are so thrilled and relived and we will absolutely be recommending them!
