Do not hire this contractor. I hired Jared to build a fence and reside my garage and paid 50% of the total cost upfront. When it came time for the work to start Jared was nowhere to be found, wouldn't return our calls or emails. I went through considerable trouble to get a judgement against him in small claims court and eventually had to go through the Oregon Contractors Board to get a response from him. I am still working to recover the money he stole and will never get reimbursed for the time and expense I'm out trying to resolve this issue.

While he didn't scam me, I am less than impressed with this guy. I wanted to give "the little guy" some work and keep it local.....2 or maybe 3 day job turned into a 5 day unfinished job. I had butcherblock counters and tile backsplash to install. My job started after the fence mentioned in Oct '22. He bought tools each day he came for only 2-3 hours, mostly late, somedays not at all. Didn't really act like he knew what he was doing, by making comments like, "I thought the countertops were hollow" and "that was really hard to cut the sink out". If I had his youth, I could have done what he did myself! No pilot holes for screws in butcherblock so they are all crooked and one head is missing. Sink installed with drain going up??? To top it off, the day I fired him, we weren't sure he was taking the garbage. He cleaned up and left. A couple hours later I get a call from a property owner, of a four plex on the other side of Beaverton, that my trash had been dumped in his dumpster. He had already contacted the police and I gave him Jared's name and number. I hired a competent company for 2x what I paid Jared to fix and complete the job. Lesson Learned? You get what you pay for and do a google search on your remodel choices!!! Now to change my lock!!!!

Jared Lofton is a scam artist. He signed a contract to build a privacy fence in my backyard, took my deposit, and never built a thing. I am still trying to get my money back to this day.
