Let me introduce myself I am Alex Long, Owner and Operator of Long & Associates. I graduated from the University of Virginia. Upon graduation I worked as a project manager for a heavy construction firm outside Baltimore, MD. I then had a job offer in Nags Head as a construction manager for a residential builder. Who doesn’t want to live at the beach? So, in 2003 my family and I moved here from York, PA. After three years of supervising and overseeing every phase of new home construction; I took and passed the North Carolina General Contractors test, and received my unlimited residential and commercial contractor’s license. Since July of 2006, I’ve been self-employed as Long & Associates General Contractor, Inc.

I am a Hands On builder. I typically do no more than one to two houses a year and do as much of the work myself or with a small crew. I have found home building to be a great creative outlet for me. I enjoy my work and take the utmost pride in my craftsmanship.
