Lou is the only plumber I’ll ever call when I need any plumbing, venting, or gas work. He’s a skilled craftsman who earned my trust, recognition, and respect. Coming from someone like me, that’s saying a lot in and of itself.
I had the pleasure of meeting Lou as the plumbing subcontractor brought into a significant construction project that consisted primarily of adding a bathroom and kitchen in the basement of my custom home, complete with ejector pump and atmospheric venting, as well as a new gas furnace where none of these items previously existed. I'm a very particular customer with high standards and have a background in construction/electrical/plumbing from my formative years. This allows me the advantage to critique not only the final fit/finish but also the level of craftsmanship that exists behind the walls, where few homeowners have the knowledge to judge the quality until something goes wrong months or years down the line.
Lou was the “replacement plumber” brought in by the construction company when I kicked the original plumber off my job because of quality issues. Before Lou could even start his work, he first had to remove the faulty lines his predecessor had sloppily run. A formidable ogre of a man at nearly 6 ½ feet tall, Lou made quick work of removing the bad gas lines and immediately set to work on running them right. With a frame the size of 2 ordinary men, he was able to work quickly yet surprisingly carefully around my custom molding and trim, routing hot & cold supplies, waste lines, and a 1.5” black pipe gas line in such a way that you could tell his well-practiced movements came as a result of years of work in his field culminating in master craftsman skill levels.
He worked conscientiously and tirelessly, often late into the evenings in order to make up for lost time caused by the prior plumber I fired, and completed the project within the original schedule. He took the time to listen to my input on how I wanted the layout and even taught a know-it-all like me a few lessons on how to improve the plumbing design of my custom bathroom to result in a better product than I had imagined.
While he was there, I asked Lou to help fix a few issues in other areas of my house (dripping faucet, low water pressure in the master bath, faulty sensor in the water heater) and he made quick work of the list my wife had been waiting for me to get to. He even let me take the credit, no less. I made sure to keep his number, and won’t hesitate to call Lou the next time I need an expert plumber.
