I probably would not recommend Apex. I was told they could start on our roof in 2 weeks. It was 6 weeks before they came and only because I kept calling them and complaining. I had told them that we would be leaving on a trip in the first week of December and it needed to finished before that since the roof was leaking. It was 6 weeks later that they started and did a rush job, acting like they were doing me a favor.
I can't say anything about the quality of work because I haven't gone up to the roof, but it did pass inspection after we had to hire a plumber to install an earthquake gas valve. Nobody told us about that. Apex had never mentioned anything about that requirement.
They didn't clean up very well. Lots of pieces of old roofing material that they had removed was all around the perimeter of the house as well as nails. I got them to come back to clean up, but it still wasn't what I would call a thorough job.
The flashing was supposed to be powder painted white to match the trim, but they left it unpainted. There were supposed to be 2 glass E-3 type skylights to replace what we had. What they installed was the cheapest acrylic type from Home Depot. We had discussed both these things on our first meeting for the estimate and at least one other time, but 6 weeks had gone by and they probably had forgotten. It was never written in the contract. Lesson learned!
I got estimates from several other companies, but didn't feel confident in them for various reasons.
