  tree & shrubbery removal and grading

  Extremely Dissatisfied Customer

  We contacted Luke's for an estimate to have a couple small trees and shrubbery removed and to have some grading done. Luke came to the site, gave us a quote and was set to come today 7/31 to do the work. He said to call him around 9 am so that I could meet him at the site b/c there are some cable lines that Comcast put down about 2 inches below the soil so I wanted to make sure he knew where they were so they wouldn't accidentally snap them.
  He didn't know who I was and said he forgot that he was doing the job. He laughed and said "I'm sorry, I forgot about you!!"
  Are you kidding me? I made arrangements for a sitter for my daughter so I could meet him and this is the answer that I get!
  Then when I mentioned the cable lines he said that he is not responsible if they snap them. I mentioned that he's obviously done A LOT of work in the park where our home is located and he said yes we are aware of the cable lines and have worked around them but if THEY snap them THEY are not responsible. Never have I heard of any professional business man say that if he or one of his workers causes damage to another persons property are they NOT responsible.
  I was even willing to have the park manager meet us there to look for them and make sure they are exposed. They are only 2 inches below the soil so I can dig them up myself with my hands!!
  Then he went on to explain that he's doing the job for such a LOW price that if they did happen to snap a line and had to pay $200-300 in repairs, then pay his men it wouldn't be worth it to him. He even said "Do you know what I mean?!?"
  Yes I know what you mean, you quoted a job for too less of an amount and now don't want to do the work b/c you realized that you wouldn't make enough money TO pay your guys or yourself. Well, that's NOT MY problem. You are supposed to be a professional who has been in business for sooo long and who quoted himself as "extremely reliable" yet you FORGOT about the job you were doing today!

  Obviously Luke's is NOT professional, responsible or reliable, nor does he stick by his word or quote!

  We are extremely disappointed and can't get into our house this weekend b/c in the community where our house was built you have to show 2 parking spots in order to move in and the work that he was HIRED to do was to clear out a space for a 2nd parking spot. This absolutely inconvenienced myself, my husband and our daughter from living in our home and now we are forced to hire someone else and delay the work.

  I would NOT recommend Luke's to ANYONE. He is not professional AT ALL and does not stick by his word, nor his or his customers schedule.
