I wrote a 5-Star review for this company two years ago because of what a great experience I had and how pleased I was with the work. I saw other reviews that sounded like the exact opposite of my experience and then questioned their authenticity. I am here today to help people understand the real Hugo and the real Luscious Landscaping. I rehired this company in January of this year to plant new plants, touch up my mulch and stones, install lights, and also to seal my walkway. This project should have taken 2-3 days at most, however even though work was started on JANUARY 20th, the project is still NOT COMPLETE TODAY. I showed him the EXACT lights I wanted for my walkway and he installed something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and then said it was too late to change them. He offered a discount for cash and so I took him up on that when we first started the project but after he took my money, he has not shown up to complete the project and has offered every excuse in the book since. In looking back at the unfavorable reviews, I am experiencing the exact same thing. It seems when Hugo is hard up for money or just plain lazy, he does a terrible job, cuts corners on product and then disappears - he does not return calls or texts and no one answers the phone in the office - EVER! The bottom line - you never really know who you are getting - the quality Hugo or the unethical, unprofessional Hugo, so BEWARE. Do you really want to take the chance of who will really show up for your project?? I have seen both sides, but I can promise you I will NEVER do business with this company again!

I signed a contract and sent a check at the very end of August. Stating calling a few weeks later and heard nothing. Finally in November Hugo called an qqd said he was sick, understandable. But no communication, is not acceptable. Said he can do everything before Thanksgiving, no. Finally showed up last Friday and in and out in a day. Wonderful cleanup, but that’s where it ends. When we originally spoke in August , spoke about checking outside lights, checking sprinklers, moving some plants around, nothing. Brought plants fine , lots of sod, which was not used, not even around the mailbox which was very obvious. Everything was a rush job, especially cashing my checks. Also wanted to leave all the debris until bulk pickup, I said in the contract you are to remove it. All in all, lack of communication, didn’t do what we originally spoke about regarding the lights and the sprinklers, never addressed the mailbox area side yard. All in all extremely underwhelmed and extremely expensive for what was done.
But more importantly, I lost my confidence in doing things on my own. This was the first project I did since my husband died. Far from a good experience.
