When we first started working with this business, they seemed nice. Some of the work is good - carport, parking pad, flagstone walkway.
But fencing and gates are not in their wheelhouse. Our partial fence and gate are full of gaps where the wood has warped causing nails to pop out. The gates are actually sinking, making it impossible to lock. One gate is actually sinking more than the other so it doesn’t line up. The bottom of the fence is scraping the concrete pad. My husband has to keep trimming the the bottom wood of the gate so we can get our cars out.
We have tried working with the couple/owners. The husband’s fix was to dig around the original concrete bases and pour more concrete to keep the metal gateposts from sinking more. The gates continue to sink.
When voicing concerns to the wife/owner she gets very belligerent and brings up all kinds of defenses such as acts of God…whatever. This gate is not even 2 years old and we have had problems with it starting soon after it was erected. The workmanship and materials are shoddy.
The sad thing is they did work for friends and relatives, and all of them have had problems with the fences and gates they’ve put up. The wife/owner just runs roughshod over them also.
If I could post pictures here I would. They have a Facebook page, but if you post any kind of critique with pictures she immediately removes them.
Use your best judgement when using M&K for other remodeling jobs, but don’t use them for fencing and gates.
