Permits
- Building permit records show that Maas Construction Inc has worked on 9 permitted projects.
Tom Maas, Angela Maas and Randal Maas the owners of Maas Construction, Inc. sold us their "model home" in the El Rio Country Club. After being sold the home by Tom Maas and working with the rest of the Maas family (a total three person company) through this transaction, we elected to not have a home inspection prior to closing on the home -- indeed a big mistake.
The Maas family offered us a home warranty program as a part of the deal, and at the time we felt they were honest and ethical business people and would fix/repair anything that would pop-up post close of escrow.
After close of escrow, we discovered numerous issues with our home including, vermin and rat infestation, a broken window in the master bedroom, cracked and crooked drywall (numerous areas), a broken bathroom sink drain, mismatched brass kitchen sink fixtures, mismatched tile flooring throughout, electrical panel installed in a bedroom vs. the garage, cracked stucco and multiple golf ball holes (numerous areas) and shower fixtures that were clogged with so much calcium and debris they all needed to be replaced.
Considering we were out-of-state buyers, purchasing their model home felt like a sure bet, and we initially felt confident they actually spent quality time to build it correctly, and took extra initiative to walk-through the home and fix noticeable defects prior to turning it over to us.
After close of escrow, Tom Maas felt he could still bring his perspective clients through our home whenever he felt like it. On two separate occasions he and his perspective clients were caught in our backyard looking through our windows, and once right after we closed escrow and had not moved-in.
Tom Maas was still using our home to bring perspective buyers through it. There was no lease-back provisions in our sales contract, nor did he ever seek authorization to conduct these tours post close of escrow. Shortly thereafter, we were forced to change all of the locks in our home due to Tom Maas blatant disregard for our privacy, and intentional trespassing on our property.
To make matters worse, Tom Maas, Angela Maas, and Randal Maas have plagued El Rio Community Association (the HOA) with endless litigation due to their fraudulent business practices and hostile takeover of the Board of Directors.
Without a doubt, Tom Maas, Angela Maas, and Randal Maas have attempted to monopolize all development opportunities inside the El Rio Country Club community. Tom Maas (HOA Board Member), Angela Maas (HOA President and Board Member) and Randal Maas (Board Committee Member) acquire, and hold as many El Rio lots as possible, such that they can control the HOA Board affairs, and by voting-in only people they can manipulate, and control their voice, and vote in El Rio affairs.
El Rio Country Club Buyers Beware!!
