This company did waterproofing of a stucco wall of a bathroom at my house recently, which was a total failure. The wood framing was smelling wet/rotting as soon as it started raining, but the contractor would deny there is a problem for more than a month until I happened to see large amount of water dripping in from the top of a newly installed window. Instead of investigating the source and properly addressing the issue, he just covered the wall up with more stucco. Later he blamed it on window manufacturer, but of course it turned out to be installation issues with improper waterproofing. When the new contractor opened up the wall, staples were found poking holes into flashings and caulking material. They found improper water proofing all over the wall. Stucco was not mixed right and was too brittle. Water was leaking in from multiple sites of the wall they worked on, but the contractor falsely claimed it originated from the top of the wall that they left out--which a competent contractor would never do--and therefore not covered by warranty. And yet they have covered the "not touched" area with new stucco, making it look like they did a complete job. Then he would blame the homeowner, who has no prior construction knowledge, for this oversight, stating this was because I did not want the work to extend into nearby roof. But the problem wall is not adjacent to the roof at all, and they could have properly repaired the wall without any problems. Also, the new contractor was able to do a proper job for all the walls without touching the roof. He provided faulty information to the homeowner, did a substandard job, then would not own up to his own failure. He abandoned the project and refused to cover it under warranty. He needs to refund the money I paid him for the failed work.
