Mad Construction

I am on my 3rd and 4th projects with Bonny and her crew. We couldn't be happier with this responsive, trouble shooting, creative team.

We hired MAD Construction a year ago for a bathroom renovation. They did really sloppy work, were very unresponsive, and left a mess. We spoke with owner Bonny Dempsey in February about several outstanding problems especially a leaking pipe so bad that it ruined our kitchen ceiling. She acts as if she is trying to solve the problem, but regularly says someone will be there to fix it and they don't show up. Keeps trying to find a cheap solution like spraying sealant on the pipe when her own contractor said the leak was too bad to be solved with sealant. Told me I should be grateful she's doing anything because she's going bankrupt. Stay away!

Bought a new construction house from them with a one year warranty. A number of issues remain unresolved, in particular, window frames that are rotting through due to moisture issues. Threatened bankruptcy when confronted with the outstanding issues. Be careful.

We purchased a house that Bonny had developed (aka completely overhauled and expanded) a couple of years ago. We've been very happy with it!

Bonny has always been responsive and helpful when we had follow-up questions about the house (e.g., paint colors or tiles used so that we can match in additional work), or when anything has come up, including sending workmen over free of charge when needed (e.g., minor things like a repair of our garage door malfunctioning, or helping us figure out our vent system so they could be cleaned).

We couldn’t speak more highly of this company. They helped us transform our 90s remodeled home into a stunning 21st century contemporary. They always made us feel like a top priority. They showed great attention to detail as well as creativity in helping us make smart and thoughtful design decisions. We probably were not the best clients because we kept changing our minds. However, they were always extremely polite, courteous, knowledgeable and the most important thing - on time. 

An example of their professionalism - we wanted to use siding that was mainly used on Comercial buildings. MADs carpenters met with the siding reps to figure out the best way to install the siding. The siding company thought their solution was very creative. 

They worked hard to make sure we were happy. We would hire MAD again in a heartbeat! And, we have recommended them to close friends.

I am extremely impressed with the workmanship of MAD Development LLC. The attention to detail and thought that went into every design element of this home is hard to come by in DC! I am nothing but satisfied and grateful to work with this developer and her team.

My experience working with MAD development was smooth. No issues, everything was done in a timely manner, and with complete professionalism. I would work with Bonny and team again.

I have worked with Bonny and MAD Development for years and highly recommend. Bonny has such an exceptional eye for detail and goes above and beyond to make sure she gives buyers exactly what it is they are looking for. Beautiful properties, professional company!

Be very careful entering a contract with Bonny Dempsey of Mad Development LLC.
Her Properties initially look fine but the workmanship is shoddy and unprofessional. We had serious building issues within months of moving into our new construction home. Very sketchy business practices. Empty promises. We now have to bring legal action for resolution.
