  Build Custom Home

  $577,000

  We live in a small community called River Cove in Hampton Cove(currently 69 homes completed with 13 more to be sold) yes, a very small neighborhood! We love living here and we have grown together as a small neighborhood.

  Unfortunately, we have also grown as we have shared with each other the amount of builder issues we have ALL had in this neighborhood. I know that this issue is not new “news” to Huntsville as the growth has been amazing in the last few years. We are part of the growth as we moved here as partial retirees and with a new job on the Arsenal. We come from the huge city of Phoenix and suburbs to Phoenix. This is a similar situation for many in this community.

  In this neighborhood, we are at a loss as what to do to get this custom homebuilder to fix the issues in all of our homes. here are a few:
  Roof leaks, foundations issues, concrete work, mold, drywall finishes, tile finishes, gaps in walls, missing screens, flooring, drainage in yards(year round standing water), and lastly as current construction is happening nails, rocks and construction debris in the street at all times. We’ve had 4 different houses around us with 5 flat tires in the last month :(

  This just isn’t about little frustrations but about ongoing issues that aren’t ever resolved and families living with them. Families that work and have worked very hard to afford these homes costing $500,000 -$700,000. And going up

  The builder is Hunter Pearson and his company is Madison River Homes.

  Mr. Pearson recently told my husband on the phone that he was tired of trying to please you idiots in this neighborhood. He has denied saying that after my husband asked him what he said. He continually lies and justifies that he has DONE EVERYTHING by the book. He has made excuses for his site superintendents and after he fired the guy that oversaw our build he blamed all issues on him. We have continually reminded him that it is his name in the company that built this home. He has also told us that we are trying to extort him for the work needed to be done :(
  I recently asked our NH in our Facebook group why anyone hasn’t submitted a BBB complaint(which there has been 3, with ours currently being worked) and most have said that they keep hoping that he will just fix it. In one hour, 70 people engaged in the FB conversation and I was so thankful that I wasn’t as crazy as I felt but at the same time I was so sad for our little neighborhood.

  I could go on and on(wish I couldn’t) but would truly like to have a conversation with you or your team to see if this could be a story. The goal would be….

  1-demand accountability in building practices and 2-continue to grow our community as a place that is desirable for people, like us to move to.

  All this should be done in good faith!
  Mr. Pearson has taken advantage of our good faith in moving across the country and into a home that is not only beautiful but built well and safe for our family!

  Build a new house

  Their finishing work is subpar and they do not come back to fix things, even when submitting through their warranty email, which is their process. Been trying to get things completed and repaired for over a year. Still don’t even have screens on my windows. I very strongly do not recommend this company!
