    Magnum Foundation, Pierce Homes recommended
    $8,500

Not impressed with this "foundation." Not only do they mis-advertise, they don't do all that they say they will, and the cost of this cheap carp is outrageous!
It is not insulated steel. It is a piece of metal with textured paint on the outside. The "tie downs" are a few cross bars on top of the dirt, the "insulation" around the perimeter of the house, is a 1 inch deep, 2 foot across, piece of Styrofoam, that they want 4 inches of dirt put on top of it. $8500 is a ridiculous amount, and cannot understand how they feel justified that it costs that much, nor how HUD actually approves it.
Do not go through this company, they are frauds.

Sam, Magnum works very hard to make sure that all of our customers are satisfied, and that if there happens to be a problem we get it resolved as quickly as we can. Unfortunately, we've never heard from you via phone or email nor have you voiced your dissatisfaction or what we didn't follow through with, directly to us. If you don't communicate with us and let us know that you have a problem/repair or that you need something from us we can't address the issue. Furthermore... This foundation system is an alternative fully engineered ASCE 32.01 Frost Protected Shallow Foundation. Yes, it is insulated gauged steel. The steel skirt wall panel is backed by 2 inches of professional architectural rigid 2 pound density foam with an R10 insulation rating. The coating that you mention is not paint. It is a waterproof textured elastomeric coating. Again, the 2 inch thick foam laid at the perimeter of your skirt wall is professional high density architectural foam and it's not the only insulation for your foundation. It's added insulation to protect against frost encroachment. If you have this foam at the perimeter of your skirt wall it means you live in a place with a high Air Freezing Index. This needs at least 14 inches to 16 inches of back fill not 4 inches. We send the Back Fill instructions to every single customer as well as have you sign this disclosure. Styrofoam – NOT suitable for use in construction – is a brand name of foam that is also far too soft for an application such as this. It's what they use to make cups out of. If you have one of our alternative ASCE 32.01 Frost Protected Shallow Foundations then you do not have “tie downs” under your home. You have engineered and rated alternative Vbrace foundation anchors. They have been extensively tested by DAPIAs and have passed all tests for gravity load resistance and seismic load resistance. They are regularly referenced as an alternative foundation anchoring method in numerous manufactured home setup manuals; and provide the lateral anchorage for your home. They anchor either into concrete or an engineered steel pan system embedded into the ground under your home. This foundation system/method is an alternative to much more costly poured in place concrete foundations; for which costs may range from $15,000-$25,000, or more. It is a HUD compliant fully engineered alternative system which can save a substantial amount in siting/setting a manufactured home while maintaining full compliance with HUD requirements. Had we known you would have been so incredibly dissatisfied with our system we would have most definitely recommended that you pursued a traditional poured in place concrete foundation. We don't want anyone to be unhappy.
